Cedar Point, easily. Its the best amusement park in the world IMO, and i would much rather go to Cedar Point than SFMM.

SFMM is good, its just not the best. THey have slow loading times, and they take worser care of thier woody's then what Cedar Point does. And Cedar Point has more rides operating than SFMM.

SFMM has got some good coasters but thats all they got. CP takes much better care of the park, rides, employees, and guests than MM.

My opinion is Cedar Point... the same as it was the last 2 times that I voted in this topic. SO, this is now the third time that someone has posted a CP vs SFMM topic. (see below)

The moral of the story is... please use the "forum search" feature.

SFMM is one of the worst parks that has ever been built, while CP just might be the best corporate park in the world. Easy decision.

Is this even a contest? Just because they have a similar amount of land/coasters doesn't mean they're equal! CP is far superior...

SFMM has gotten a lot better since you were last there. I found SFMW to be a lot worse than SFMM.

CP needs work.

My last visit was horrible and Im contemplating not getting a pass for next year.

I dont mind people who smoke, I just hate the smoking in general. I have better ways to die than second hand smoke. But for whatever reason, people fail to read the signs posted all over the queues and on the ride boards when they enter the line. I had 2 groups, one in front and one behind smoke about half a dozen cigarettes. I should not have to ask them to stop smoking, its not my responsiblity. But I did and had to piss off a few people in the process. My sister has reactions to the smoke as well so I am not the only one.

the second issue is I see more line jumping at Cedar Point than any other park Ive been too. Apparently it is common practice to have 2 people get in line, then 30 minutes in drag in 4 of their friends. Sorry, but thats not legal either.

At least at Six Flags Great Adventure I saw a cop in almost every line and in 2 cases, I saw this happen and both parties were escorted out of line. At Cedar Point I have not once seen this taken care of or addressed.

Next, Dragster was down the entire weekend and is still down. ??? How many years and it still cant be fixed to work decently? Youd think by now, with all the other ones out there and KK's issues you could work out and resolve the remaining ones but nope...

The more I go to other parks the more I realize that CP is mediocre. Sure, for a corporate park its very nice but that doesnt say alot. All but 3 of the rides are average and the only reason I go is its the closest too me. Im thinking of taking the 100 bucks on a pass and pitching it towards a day to Holiday World where Ill pay half price for everything and get 4 times the value in rides and atmosphere.

Im just sick of CP's lazy attitude. Ive been a passholder for over 10 years and its only gotten worse every year. This last incident might be the last straw. I was almost at a point of rage with the smokers in line. Just smoke before you get in line. Not everyone can handle, nor do they want to inhale the smoke.

Cedar Point has alot of fanboys (I used to be one...used) thats why it ranks so high. Apparently having 3 good coasters and 13 average ones accounts for best park when I can name off several other parks with 2 or 3 rides which all are awesome and they only get cleanest and friendliest staff. bah.

^Nice rant there Real. I don't really think that either is better than the other. I agree with Real on lots of stuff he has brought up. Line jumping is illegal and you shouldn't let people up the queue if that's what they're doing. Exception is an emergency. Smoking in line is just rude and really shows a lack of observation. Don't those people know that small kids go to those parks for a fun outing? On my Knotts trip there was a cop in the line for Ghostrider. As people who have been to Knotts know, the loading platform for Ghostrider is above the path level. The cop had a great view of the queue and the path below.

During my trip to SFMM in '03 I saw the same people jump in line on two rides. There was no one there to stop them. It makes me frustrated to see people getting away with this kind of thing.

I personally think that atmospheres at parks a HUGE thing and smoking isn't something you can avoid, it happens at all parks and makes people miserable. However, I think cedar point is cleaner that SFMM (though like real said, there are cleaner parks) and unfortunatly I always have a favor to cedar point [shocked]

Yes I too have noticed this "decline in quality". I've been there the last three years, and this most recent was the worst. I saw line jumping in the line for MF, and someone reported it, but the line person (for lack of a better term) merely let them off with a warning. I also saw line jumping in line for magnum. People just merely walked behind the vending machines and skipped most of the line. This is the first time I have ever seen line jumping at CP, and honestly, I was very disapointed at the decline in quality. I didn't have the problem with smoking in line that Real had, but I really don't like the smoking inside the park. I'm one of the people who have extreme asthma attacks when exposed to cigarette smoke over a period of more than 2 minutes, and if I don't have my inhaler I end up like this [xx(]. I also agree with real about the 3 great coasters, 13 average coasters thing.

I didn't vote because I've never been to SFMM and it wouldn't be fair to vote against it.

I've had the problem with the smoking on my first year there, then I never did again, and I never had any line jumping problems either. Guess I either don't go there often enough, or I'm just lucky. But the last time I went there, some idiot went into a restriced area by MF, fenced off slightly, but not in the area where the rocks and tracks are, somewhere nearby. You see it when you're near the end of the queue.

Im there about 10+ times a year. This year I went there far fewer but of all the times I went, not once did it seem to be like it was. Not sure what is going on, but as I said above - the more I go to other, smaller parks the more I see what CP should be and isnt.

When I went to CP, There was dude and his girlfriend behind me smoking, I'm 1000% positive that the freeway chick saw them....she didn't care much. She also didn't stamp peeps freeway to say there have been used. There were people jumping way ahead to get to the soda machines in MF's line, and 'blemding in' with everyone as they moved forward. I guess overall it was awsome, and way better then anything I've been to, so I voted for CP.

But they totally need to fix it up.

I've been to both parks . . . and hands down Cedar Point is better. although CP may not have a 4D or a floorless, It has my vote for the best park because the park atmosphere is wonderful, and the park is so clean. Unlike SFMM . . . which is dark and gloomy, and dirty in alot of places. CP is a flat park which makes it so much easier on your feet, while SFMM has a HUGE hill you have to climb if the Orient Express is not open. which is hard on your feet. CP is WAYYYY better!

Im sick of people judging MM before theyve been, the park is running all 16 coasters with the exception of flashback about 95% of the time. And the enviroment isnt THAT awful. As far as coasters go MM is far far supurior. When I consider a park I dont think of the fact that its got 16 coasters, I see how many quality coasters there are. When I see CP I see Dragster, Mantis, Raptor, MF, Magnum, and maybe WT. When I look at MM I see, Scream, Riddler, Viper, X, DejaVu, Batman, Goliath. Theyve got a much better set IMO. But for park atmosphere I do agree CP wins but that doesent make the overall better to me. Plus MM has way less crowds and better prices.

I'm leaning more and more toward voting for neither park. Now that Holiday World is building The Voyage and completing their coaster collection, I'm running out of reasons to go to any other park.

(Why should I pay $45 +parking +food +drinks +waterpark admission to get into a big corporate park, when I can pay only $19.95 for the best day of my life at Holiday World?)

Which would you choose?
