So as you may know the new Wireless N networks have came out, and I was wondering who thinks it is worth it?

So who already has it, do you know if it works better??

Thanks for your Time Rmfrick

And For the poll pick which one you would Buy, or think would be worth the best.

It isn't widely compatible yet nor is it really needed IMO. Once it becomes more popular and compatible it'll be great. I've heard it's still buggy too.

The Netgear says that it gets up to 270 MBPS, while the Linksys still only gets 54 MBPS so i don't know which one is better, i am thinking th Netgear

First, Netgear sucks. Second, Linksys and Belkin are both pretty good.
Lastly, there's this things called a wire. It pwns any wireless system, and it's cheaper. If you can, this wire creature is the best choice.

I used to have some Belkin 100mbit wireless network, and in my experience, it's a total piece of poop as is not worth the hassle. The thing plain sucked, it cut out all the time, the speed sucked and the whole thing was generaly a heap of poop. I'll never go wireless again

I think it's amazing just how many people run their wireless networks unencrypted and wide out in the open for anyone and everyone to see.

Well as much as i love Wired, well at my new house we can't run wires...we are moving again. So that's why i need advice. I rewired our telephone line at our current home that so in the rooms we needed to we could just run the internet through the cat 5e. but in the older homes they don't have cat5e cables so that's why we have to go wireless, and i know it sucks, we have already used it before.

I have a wireless and love it. Netgear sold me a router and never again. I updated the firmware and the thing died and had to pay for a replacement.

They blamed me for updating it and killing it. Stupid automatic updates.

Anyway. I'm now on a U.S Robotics wireless router and usb adapter.

There are 2 unsecure networks in my range :D

Free internet for all :P

My wireless never cuts out so you guys must have some big walls or something.

You know easy it is to hack into a wireless system even running 256 Bit WEP?

Not everyone is a "Server Jesus", and also, wireless networking is really only worth it in scenerios where you have 2 or more computers, beacuse adding in an extra internet cable costs a fair amount of money. Plus, if you ever want to move the computer ... yea rewiring wouldn't be fun. Also, for laptops, it makes internet awesome because at my house I can surf the net on my porch underneath the umbrella on a nice day. I love it personally, no strings attached ... literally :P.

^adding an extra cable costs a lot? I didn't know $10-$15 max was a lot. The only thing a wireless network makes sense for is if you have a laptop or some kinda wireless media hub. Otherwise, I can't imagine you don't have a house that you can run cables in without having a huge cable orgy at one end or another.

wired networks are definately the better choice, especially if you play a lotta online games. there's just no insoluble reason for using a wireless network on a desktop pc.

and.. how do you even see whats on the screen when you're outside?? I've tried usin my parents' laptop outside during the day, and its really hard to see whats on the screen.
