Blackpool sued after visitor loses tooth

Blackpool Pleasure Beach are currently the subject of legal action after one visitor allegedly lost a tooth whilst rideing one of it's attractions. The un-named women rode the Pepsi Max Big One during a 1995 visit, and she alleges that a violent jolt against a headrest caused a tooth to "fly right past my head". The woman also alleges that signs advising to hold the restraining bar with both hands were too small and too few in number. The park deny this, stating that there was adequate padding on the ride.

Is it me or does that sound a bit fake?

I mean for a start the ride does not have head restraints, in the station it has loud speakers telling riders not to raise their hands in the air, stickers are in every seat.

Also in this other part of news I saw about the same thing the woman said that the ride needed O.T.S.R's. I mean if that ride had those restraints in would probably be more painful that having your tooth chipped!

what a BS, u must be very clumpsy to get a tooth out of your mouth while riding a rollercoaster, she is the one the be sue'd

her story is a bit unclear imo, how would it be possible to lose a tooth in a ride. Also it happened 10 years ago, Why does she come up now with it then?

Only place i could think where it could happen is the area where it goes under the Big Dipper and only to the rather painful breaks. Also remember this was in 1995, so those signs may not have been there back then

But still. You need to follow the signs that are posted and listen to the ride ops. They have rules on those rides for a reason. To keep people from getting hurt.

Yeah I agree, also as far as I know it has always had the loud speakers in the station saying not to raise arms in the air!

But why can't we raise our arms in the air on Arrow hypers. You can't raised them on Desperado or PMBO. I don't know about other Arrow hypers though.

Well it dosn't mean that you can't, it just means that if anything happens the park are not responsible, they sort of cover themselves with it.

Have you noticed on some rides it says people with high blood pressure shouldn't ride. Well my dad asked the doctor and he said it dosn't effect your blood pressure!

it doesn't affect your blood pressure,
but when having a high blood pressure, changes of leaving the coaster not as healthy as you started it, drasticly increase,
they don't put theere for nothing

Well I'm just saying what an expert says.

I mean it won't cause any huge damage, about a minute or two but after that you would recover!
