I guess starting your own thread is the cool thing to do, sooo....

Current Project

I currently don't have a main project right now. I have a few side projects I started and are in limbo including but not limited to a Plantoris Park Pack-Signage, Plantoris Park Pack-Buildings, 2 recreations well underway, and a large theme park that I need to commission a B&M invert from someone. If your interested let me know, your free to make the layout however you want, and will be at the entrance, but I'm looking for super-realism.

Latest Release

Image
Phreakshow, is a concept coaster I think. I set out to make a coaster like no other, with a little of everything. Arrow, meets B&M, meets Intamin. The pre-lift is a little thing I came up with that I think would be cool to see on a real coaster. Hope you enjoy!

Your strata is misshapen.

Yeah the tophat on the strata needs to be pointier. Look at KK or TTD pics for references. Also that second hill on the dive machine looks like it'll flat out murder people lol.

The "tophat" on the dive machine is terrible. If it were me, and you're allowed to disagree, I would make that hill MUCH more wide-crested for an extended period of floater air and then bring it back to the current layout via immelman.

Yes that hill would cause major red-out. Keep it parabolic and make the crest a lot wider.

Thanks guys for the comments.

I did look at KK and TTD when I made my strata but I made it about half as wide, so maybe that's what your seeing? but they really are pretty rounded tops, just angled at the sides maybe 5?????? and because I made it skinnier that was not really doable.
Image

as for the dive coaster, I agree it looks very wrong, but it feels so right. That hill is almost as tall as the drop so it rounds the top at about 10 mph, and provides a nice -1 G's with no spiking. Its actually a pretty fun little element and now I'm a little excited for you guys to try it.

I did play around with my strata for a few hours but don't think it changed much. As for the dive coaster, sorry but that hill stays, its my favorite part of the ride. I understand B&M would not make something like that but maybe they should ;) .

Question: is there anyway to disable the bars/gate on the dive coaster? I used 2 stations and when the second stations bars open it hits the car in the first station.

Sorry cool5 probably not, I'm trying to go for a more... I guess... a realistic feel. although I was considering letting you make a jet coaster for my park. I would probably just let you have the file and give you a section to put a coaster. would you be interested? I would give full credit of course.

also, to add on that would anyone else wish to collaborate with me on this park? I need a few coasters that, well, I just suck at making, like an inverted/flying coaster, suspended coaster, and maybe a mine train. if anyone wants to add one or maybe even help with scenery, just let me know. I only ask that it be mostly realistic, very smooth(depending on manufacturer), must fit in to the park, and I will retain the right to make minor adjustments if needed as well as full veto powers i.e. no poll dancing stripers(well maybe  ).
Who's with me man?

looking at the picture you provided of KK I agree with the others that its not very round, its parabolic the radius of the curve doesnt change much but its noticeable. The GCI looks interesting and I'm very glad you put it very far away from the other woodie, I assume for better performance.
What are these for?

i think what they are trying to say is that TTD and KK have a more egg-shaped curve versus a semi-circle. EDIT: That is to say that it's starting to crest a bit late. If it started a little sooner it would have that "pointy" look that was mentioned

The dive hill isn't any worse than the one on G Force just much taller.
Image
I think it's legit, but realistically 10mph may be too small of a rollback window for such a heavy square brick of a train though. Raptor and Mantis valley all the time if it gets chilly enough and even Gatekeeper valleys in the right winds. That would and could make it, but it would valley a LOT outside of warm calm conditions. I love the idea for the forces though, anyway you might bump the cresting speed to 15-20? It looks like FVD which doesn't really have an undo function, and not something I'd downrate for if not.

My few nitpicks since they are based off of RL company designs are with Stinger and Demon Drop

Arrow - Stinger:
2 things

The shape of the loop is more gerstlauer than Arrow. Arrow's teardrop clothoid loops are one of their strongest signature features. The loop on Stinger is way too round and small coming off that drop for an Arrow.

Image
Image

The other is that the corkscrews are cartoonishly huge for an Arrow design. Arrow elements are always the same size(25ft for the corkscrews) they just change the height to compensate. You can see this in the posted pic of Shockwave from SFGAm with how the loops stairstep down and especially with how they put the loops and screws in the middle of the air on Vortex for next to no reason.
Image
Once Arrow figured out an element, they RCT3'd them into whatever they were building. They didn't have size differences.

Demon Drop:

Not really feeling this for a Euro-fighter. you have a dive, custom Arrow looper, a strata, and another coaster with a tophat and a loop record. I don't see the need for a simple Euro-fighter out and back if you are going for variety. I would LOVE to see your take on Zamperla's Thunderbolt at Coney Island in that space instead. It could even use the existing lift and drop no problem! I had my doubts about it, but it's a great ride in an insanely narrow slot, and that last hill is deceptively effed.
Image

EDIT: Also, I'm down to submit a coaster for the park! I like playing around with the less seen styles in NL2, let me know^^

It looks good barring the feedback everyone else gave already. I loved the first park so this should be awesome, you must have a mega rig to load all these coasters in one park.
BTW how do you achieve the tall grass ?

Yes, it's true that Arrow only changes the height of their elements, and never the size.

^To get regular grass, go to terrain settings and click "1. Grass (AB_) or whatever it's called on your computer, then hit the settings button right next to it. Then go to the extras tab and click the button with 3 dots next to auto-plant project and browse your computer to find the auto-plant grass (usually under Library/Trees and Plants/Autoplant)

I wasn't trying to say they are wrong or anything, but I guess I kinda did. sorry guys I am wrong. Pretty much I was saying I cant do it, without saying I suck.

also yes, I do have a pretty nice pc, I keep it up to date.
AMD fx-8350 eight-core 4.5GHz
8GB RAM
Ge-force 550ti 2GB RAM
Ge-force 550ti 2GB RAM(even though NL2 only uses 1  )
512 GB SSD
and I plan on replacing those video cards in april with my tax return 8-) . maybe titans?

the grass I use the premade one if you go into terrain settings - load setup - I use complex.

Lucky K -
thanks for all the helpful info.
I'm not sure what you meant about the dive coaster. Valley?
I always did wonder why Aarow raised their loops. I am going to have to reshape that one. As for the corkscrews, I had second thoughts about them too and I should have known better.
I really like my Demon Drop coaster :( .
Just to clarify Viking was NOT going to go into the park, only the dive coaster. Viking is cool but its way to large and a bit unrealistic for the park, it will be a separate release(and soon).
I would love for you to make a coaster, I have a lot of trouble with inverted coasters so any invert/suspended would be nice, otherwise maybe a spinning or a mine train or 4D. just let me know how you want to do it, you want the park file or make is separate? Personally, I make each coaster in a separate file then import it into the park. that makes it so its not so laggy while building and also load times.(although you must be careful with supports then if the ground is uneven)

P.S. I hand build everything I don't know how to use FVD or make 3DS or anything.

Valley = train not making it round the track due to external factors such as wind. It's called valleying as the train comes to rest in the valley between hills!

Here's Smilers trains being removed from the track after not making it round.

I have a couple of good pinfairi coaster layouts that you can use. I get down to 10 or 5 FPS when flying around your park. Your park lags like crazy when riding the classic wooden coaster and when flying around in general.

Create a new park in the editor.
Then find the "Import Coaster" button.
Navigate to the park where that coaster is located, double click on the park, then click on the coaster, fine tune your import settings, and then click ok I think, and then you are done!
Now you have your coaster from another park in your new park!

Hope this helped!
