As we previously announced in October 2014 (see article), the famous Walibi Belgium Park will offer its visitors a new attraction in 2016.
Officially announced Thursday, February 12, 2015, there will be a water attraction Splash Power type. Called "Pulsar", a world first signed the famous German manufacturer Mack Rides, A journey of 70 seconds, three-speed roundtrips crescendo and three sensations: slide, fly and dive face-to-face with water. The project which began in spring 2015 will last approximately 10 months.
The name and theme of the attraction will be provided in a more advanced stage of projet.Un "Power Splash" is a unique attraction that is characterized by its launch system, acceleration and multiple drops.
A rail on the water, two towers with highlights to 45 meters and three consecutive launches for travel speed crescendo. The two boats with 20 passengers each will speed across the range of the motors of the type LSM (linear synchronous motor) to each of three passes.
The attraction will push the speedometer to 50 km / h and the boat to a height of 25 meters at the first start. The second acceleration propel passengers 35 meters high at a speed of 80 km / h, to finish at 45 meters above water after a final climb to 100 km / h. Each rise requires a drop, either forward or backward, it will always be vertical.
A turntable system would enable the loading of a vessel while the other is on the course.
Water for more sensations. Water to brake. Water for a splash effect. Water for the beautiful view and water for the big final plunge. Lake Walibi Belgium, natural and central in the park, so the place is recommended for the installation of this great novelty, not far from Flashback and Country Cantina. For the curious or fearful, the attraction will have a pedestrian bridge to connect the two dams. But beware of onlookers, the splash goes away.
The first challenge is to create and install an attraction requiring electromagnetic force of this magnitude and the latest technology, in addition to the aquatic environment. Propelling the same large boat three times in a row before and behind, with increasing energy consumption but mastered, is the second of the great challenges that have identified the German engineers from Mack Rides. The technical teams of engineers and Walibi Belgium are preparing for their part, in the coming weeks, faces several other challenges. The first is to build a complete dyke that will control the water level of the lake and the pool of water amount required for final braking. The second challenge will be to lay the foundations of this building in a lake filled.
Investment and Strategy This innovation represents an investment of 8.5 million euros. With its innovative blending speed, technology and water, the project is the result of a long reflection that began in 2013.
"This new project was imperative to meet criteria such as creating elements of surprise, but incomparable sensations that can be share and share. The attraction was to be at the height of our ambitions, but accessible to all. The first steps for this project were undertaken there are already more than a year. We are delighted to embark on this adventure with Mack Rides teams, very proud to bring this unique experience in Belgium and very eager to begin the next phases of the project, "said Jean-Christophe Parent, CEO of Walibi Belgium the local press.
Mack Rides has charged the CSM steel construction company Steelstructures Hamont-Achel located in the province of Limburg in Belgium, to build the structure of 600 tons of "Pulsar". CSM was chosen for its ability to achieve large steel structures to high-quality welds.
Moreover, it is the young German company specializing in soundscape, based in Paderborn, IMAscore will sign the theme music. IMAscore to whom we owe numerous quality composition, such as soundtracks of "Helix" Liseberg "Blue Fire" at Europa Park, or even "The Smiler 'from Alton Towers.
Located Wavre in Belgium, Walibi Belgium is open since 1975, owned by the French group Compagnie des Alpes since 2006 the park offers about thirty attractions for all the family. The opening of "Pulsar" is expected in May 2016.
