I am having so much trouble making my tracks smooth. Does anyone know any tools or tips to help me make my tracks smooth besides pressing Ctrl + G I already do that but it is still pumpy.

i can only give you 1 piece of advice, practice. the more you practice the better they will get.

the tools are only as good as the maker

what i often do is take a track peice like a hill or turn,,,and before smoothing it, i split it up a bunch of times,,,then smooth it. That seems to work for me. If you have a turn or hill consisting of only 2 or 3 nodes the smoother can really screw things up, so split it up first,,,also instead of handbuilding turns, try elementary, it will make perfectly pumpless turns.

There is no particular method for smoothing tracks, people may give you hints and tips, but they only tend to work for that person. If you practise and practise, you will develop your own methods of what works best for you, if you keep simply trying to create a smooth track, trying various methods, you will eventually find the method that you feel gets the best results for you!

some rules of thumb:

+ stick to simple shapes for practicing.
+ so use enough vertices.
+ experiment with patience.
+ look at other peep's methods.

most important:
+ find your very OWN way to get what you want! [8D]

The editor smoother is not correct, because it does not move nodes AND smooth them; the smoother found on the NLDC toolbox does the above two things and is pretty darn smooth.

Well, it smoothens the same, just the nodes move in the NLDC version; a factor which really helps the coaster.

The editor smoother IS correct indeed, as long as you take care to feed it with vertices that CAN be smoothed. Otherwise it naturally must fail. There has to be reasonable input, like with any tool usage. BTW: the NL 1.6 should be the most advanced of all three existing versions (Buster's standalone from the toolbox, the CK one, and 1.6 editor)

Don't blame the knife for cutting your fingers!
