[V] It's a sad, sad day for British football and football as a collective as today it lost a hero. George Best, possibly the greatest player ever to have graced the field, has lost his long battle with illness and died today around noon.
The Manchester UTD and Northern Ireland legend, born in Belfast, wanted to be remembered for his skills and triumphs on the football pitch and not for the frail figure of a man that he became off it. I, along with everyone else, will wholeheartedly participate in the 1 minute silence before all of the games tomorrow, around all of the grounds. My thoughts will be with his parents, who have realised the nightmare of outliving their child, and my thoughts also go out to the rest of his family and freinds.
Although, a few of you won't know who George Best is, or was, I don't think you'll begrudge me paying my own little tribute to him here.
R.I.P. George Best, 22nd May 1946 - 25th November 2005
Today we lost a part of football, forever.
