Major theme parks that include Six Flags Magic Mountain and Cedar Fair Owned Knotts Berry Farm are currently threatened by the major California wild fires.
Knotts Berry Farm currently has a major fire that is about 15 miles away with wind in the range of 50 to 70 miles per hour pushing the fire west towards Knotts Berry Farm.
Six Flags Magic Mountain is currently surrounded by the fire but has not been hit yet. However for safety precautions, the theme park is closed today.
The Sylmar fire has currently burned 600 mobile homes in the vicinity of Six Flags Magic Mountain and has 0% containment due to the extreme winds and the self created weather by the fire. Water drops and fire retardant drops are being conducted in hopes of stopping the fire but there seems no end in sight.
The Corona fire as it's called is threatening Knotts Berry farm, but not as serious of a threat like Magic Mountain currently is. This fire is closer to more heavily populated areas and has a much better barrier between the fire and the theme park and is unlikely to be affected by the fire. However warnings have been issued for those with breathing problems since the ash and smoke makes it difficult to breathe.
