I don't think anyone is against a certain religion here.
I, for one, am against the existence of religion.
I mostly agree, but partly disagree. I mainly agree, because I have a pretty deep interest in science. I was raised into a very religious (Catholic) family (apart from my dad). Overtime as I've studied more science I've grown to realize how, well, "senseless" most of religion is, and how much of it is literally obliterated by science in so many ways. I would be forced to go to church. In a way, though I hate to say it, I do believe religion is a form of brainwashing. I do not by any means believe in most of what the bible says. Of course if you are raised into something from birth the large quantity of people will believe that is right, just as we learn anything else as we grow. I personally have worked myself out of that bubble and formed my own opinion; that little in the bible makes the slightest bit of sense. I guess that is why they call it a "faith". But, however, I do believe that religion is necessary. I firmly think that if there was no belief in a "higher power" than ourselves, that the numbers of crime, rape, etc. would increase drastically. (Though often it causes more deaths and wars too, so I guess it is kind of an iffy statement.)
I am not for swaying anyone's beliefs, or telling them who is right and who is wrong, for that reason primarily, and because it is annoying. And also because I know how they feel...because for a long time I felt the same way, but I have just come to my senses I guess. I don't even consider myself atheist, as that is largely considered a religion all its own. I simply don't like to associate myself with religion at all, or at least whenever I can avoid it.
