I love discussions like this which ask "what's a better ____" without even attempting to define what the criteria are for judging what "better" means.
Such threads quickly dissolve into verbal slap fights along the lines of
1st person: "My car is best because it gets 40 miles to the gallon!"
2nd person: "No my boat is better because it floats!"
in which the participants are arguing entirely different arguments, but arguing non-the-less.
"RC3 is a better game because it's easier to play" is a perfectly valid statement if marketability is one of your criteria for a better game.
"NL is a better game because you can build more realistic coasters with it" is a perfectly valid statement if realism is one of your criteria.
Like so many things in life, what's better for you depends entirely on what you want at the time you want it.
All that being said I don't really consider NL a game. It certainly doesn't feel like a game when I'm using it, it's more like a coaster design tool simulator.
Be sure you're not looking in a mirror before you start pointing fingers.
