recommend me a mini dv cam

I'd like for the knowledgable peopel to recommend me a good mini dv cam, high resolution to get clear footage, image stabilization, and whatever perks you can find, I am in the range of up to $450 SO if you can find a mini dv cam and have a link to where I an buy and details I'd appreciate it. all resolution is set at 720x480 max! If you want more, your gonna have to get a mac, and an expensive hi-defination camera! And either Final Cut Pro HD or I-Movie HD. Along with that, you'll need a big ass hard drive for that computer. Other than that,since your looking for something that will have nice clear sharp images, you'll need to get a camera with an expensive lense, probably, because thats where all the image quality comes from. You could go to Best Buy and just ask them what camera they would reccommend, they're usually really helpful.

Yea, my media class has final cut pro and it awsome. All digal camcorders and a big studio to tape it in. Get a Mac if you want to have clear footage, and a perfesional look

having a mac has nothing to do with clear footage, or professional look, you can do the same on a PC, but if you want HD technology, your going to need a mac, unless if Sony Vegas came out with a HD version, then you could have a pc that runs HD, but I don't know cuz I haven't really looked into the program, but like I said before, the main thing is the lense.

He wants a dv cam, not a new computer.

Either get a panasonic or a JVC, I'm getting one this weekend maybe bacause some fag at school broke my other one.

I would suggest one of the new Panasonic (I think that's the company) inexpensive 3 Chips (3CCD as they are also known as). They're slightly more expensive than your price range, but the actual quality should be A LOT better because of the 2 extra chips... Not get too technical though.

I'm only 15 so I'm not the best reference but I bought the Canon Elura 60 and Have enjoyed it much. It doesn't do the best complete darkness but outdoor quality is very good.

I purchase that camera recently, about 3 months ago. Its fantastic, works great for all my movie needs. Ive made some SFMW and Knotts video. MM will hopefully be coming soon. Once I get some time to go. [;)]

Just so you know, Vegas 6 has HDV support and capturing and whatnot built in. Thats what I use at my house for my movies. And I use Final Cut (Even though I don't like it) at school. And I still think you should go for the 3 CCD camera I pointed out in an earlier post. It's definately the way to go as far as picture quality is concerned.

Sweet, I think you should like it. I haven't had personal experience with it, but the three chips will give you spectacular video quality.
