No, from what I've seen and ridden so far. It turns decent rides into extremely gimmicky decent rides.

Bull crap. RMC isn't ruining anything. It's not like they are ambushing park's wooden coasters and forcing their track onto unsuspecting coasters. Six Flags ruined most of their wooden coasters years ago by slapping trims breaks on them and reprofiling hills down to ramps and squeezing every ounce of excitement out of them. All because they wanted cheap, easy maintenance.

^ Agreed. If anything, especially for Six Flags, it's making the once non popular coasters, popular again.
Taking crowds away from other already popular rides, making the lines shorter!

I honestly dont understand why this conversation is even happening. Many of these old rides that rmc reprofiled where probably getting torn down pretty soon anyway and where mediocre at best, so Rmc then turned them into great rides. What would you rather have, a mediocre ride or a great ride? Also we are forgetting that rmc also makes their own rides (outlaw run) and not just reprofiles old rides. Rmc is not ruining the wooden coaster. Period. End of story.

The original Texas Giant was not a decent ride, there was very little redeeming about it. People complain about Mean Streak's roughness, and it's a walk in the park compared to what Giant had devolved into. New Texas Giant is not a decent ride, it's a good one at the very least. I'm actually surprised how many here didn't particularly enjoy it, though if memory serves I didn't gain a full appreciation until after a few rides (and learning how to ride/where to ride).

Like it's been said, RMC conversions should be taken on a case by case basis, and any wooden coaster that's really worth its salt or of historical significance is quite likely not going to be touched. What RMC has done is allow rides that would be firewood by now a new lease on life.

^^ and ^

Perfectly said,
RMC should not touch any coaster with any significance today, but they should touch the ones that will get kicked to the curb soon if something doesn't happen to them.
