Hi there.. Just wanna show you my progress on my Robin Hood..
The lifthill is 30% done
The wide supports will be based on the real thing.. but it will never be the same.. so it will be a combination of real life and own mind...

here is de webcam from 20-02-2007

Got the pics working..

If you want to see detail shots of anything don't be shy to ask :)

And for the peeps who think it's a NL export..
NO! and here is the proof..

As you can see the metal rail is a seperate heigth from the woodrail.. so Impossible to be a NL export..

Currently counting... about 100.000 polys..
I tryed to render with Metal Ray now.. and the render time reduces to under 1 minute.. i also placed a nice spot to act as sun to make some realistic shadows.. and the result will be posted shortly :)

And here are the pics!

I don't suppose you wrote some MaxScript to place the supports.

how many objects are in there? I'd never have the patience to place all those wooden supports.

I think there way above 1000 objects ;) and no.. its all array and replace.. but it works fine for now :)

Edit: Just noticed there are only 406 objects.. but over 100000 polygons..

That's incredible. That must be very time consuming and annoying.

To bad.. Due to to many faults in the design of the track and more complications the Robon Hood model will be delayed untill i get my hands on the original blueprints from the coaster.
Here are the final renders on this version..
