I have finally started a new project again. This ride is inspired by a recent trip to Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. The scenery was so breathtaking and I imagined how amazing it would be to have a great coaster in this environment.

Rocky Mountain Express is a large Intamin Plug and Play. I loved El Toro so much that I really wanted to try an Intamin woodie. The ride has a 198', 70 degree first drop and has a double down section before the lift. I have created an mountain evironment that will allow me to use the terrain to have a huge, 200 foot plus third drop that I will make sure beats SOB as the largest drop on a wooden coaster. The first half will be similar to Phantom's Revenge with a second hill in between the first and much larger second drop.

This will also be my first real attempt at the AHG using Jimmy Yoshi's much appreciated tutorial, so there is no banking as of yet. I am also going to try and create a lot of custom supporting and some 3D's for this ride as well

This will be by far my most detailed project, so it will be under construction for a while. If there are any members willing to give feedback from time to time as I finish sections, please leave a message. I will PM you when I have something I would appreciate feedback on.

I hope to release this ride sometime in late July, early August.

Hey pdon, nice idea to make an intamin with prelift. I like the idea of a terrained second drop too, phantoms revenge's one of my top "want-to-ride" coasters [;)] Will you make the lift at cable lift speed? Also, have you thought of the rest of the layout yet? I'd recommend you not making it too twisty. There needs to be a lot of straight hill action. Some more turns than el toro or colossos could make it interesting, but thrown into the whole layout, not just one uninspired twister section in the end... Looking forward to seeing the progress!

Are you going to bank it accordingly to Intamins? Because that pre-lift area looks like it needs some serious banking. Lats with the Intamin trains arent exactly that fun, to me.

This will be my first AHG coaster, so the banking will be done in the AHG. I have the first three hills, including the biggest drop done. If all goes well I should be able to work on the banking and have it ready for some initial feedback on Monday.
