I'm thinking about purchasing Scream Machines, or rather I have already decided that I want it. I want to know is it absolutely necessary to download the game first? I would much rather have the CD instead of just the downloaded full version, and there is a link on the Scream Machines site to purchase a copy. Is that ok to do or should I download then buy?[?]

The game doesn't come on a CD, you have to download it from the site. Same thing goes for NL. They do this because it's not really a commercial game like the games that do come on CD usually are.

when you want to buy it, you click the link to buy it (lol) which takes you to regisoft. You put your info and credit card number and submit it. It will send you an email of your PENDING authorization, when your credit card is approved, tehy send you an email with the registration key and a link to download it (if you dont have the demo).

Hope this explains it

Oh, ok. Thanks guys. That one link kind of confused me, lol. Alrighty then, I'll download SM first, then buy it. I guess I can just burn it to a cd or something when I get the complete download.

its not the "complete download" you are basically purchasing the registration key that will unlock all the features of the demo, so you can go ahead and burn the demo to the cd

So you don't have to download anything when you buy the game? And that means you have to get the demo first before buying it?

you can always buy it then download it, or vice versa. I was basically telling princes g that she can go ahead an burn it to a disk. Read my other post which will explain more about this

Oh cool, thanks rctycoon112. That really helps. One more question, I've installed the game, but do I need to wait until I get my registration key to download and install the add-ons? I definitely want those extra trees and the skybox, etc. Should I wait or does it matter? I want to put all that stuff on one cd all at the same time.

Not quite sure about that one, but i would just by the game (registration key) then download all the add-ons. You might be able to use them before you "purchase" it, but i don't know for sure. Try it and see if it works
