Roll looks too fast like xpress' prematurely firing trouser snake.

Xpress, you have to heartline it yourself. Read the manual.

FVD doesn't heartline... ahg does.

Umm, that's what AHG is for. Just send the element through as black track with low filter and you'll get the element you want. At least you're not using 4 second time-zones now. I think I once used one that was 3.625 seconds...

EDIT: oops, didn't notice there was a second page

Heh, durh. If you used one zone you couldn't have both neg and pos forces.

Xpress something to note is that a fraction of a second is a long time in roller coaster world.

Hmm. Well then, since I have no manual ([confused][:(!]) and can't find it (probably me), I'm guessing that the heartline value has no significance.

So, my time zones shouldn't go over say 2.0 for average elements?

And increasing, then decreasing after a certain point is the top of a hill, right? Visa versa for a bottom?

It has significance. It makes banking right, and keep in mind heartline effects the length...

So, my time zones shouldn't go over say 2.0 for average elements?

I wouldn't necessarily go that far. I was working on a B&M hyper that was banked 0, and the zone was about 6 seconds long.

pretty much. unless you experience 2 seconds of the same force/banking within that element.

You need to not be so dumb and people might start caring.

Alton's not the only one that knows FVDs. And no one likes track stealers!

It's easy to figure out how long the times zones should be by watching footage of real coasters going through similar elements.

I didn't "steal" anything.

Seus is just a low life that decided to ban me one day. And it's not hard to get another CS account.

GerstleCrazy, just stop right now. It's pretty obvious I don't get the whole time zones and whatnot with FVDs.

Jakizle, shutup.

Jimmy Yoshi, good idea. Videos don't lie.

It sounds like you're making the same mistake I made at first. The time zone inputs (bTimA, bTimB, gTimA, gTimB) are where you put the amount of time that the zone lasts for (.5 seconds or 1 second or whatever). If you want zone A to have 4.0 g's and zone B to have 4.1, you put those in here:

CASE[gTimA+0.000001,gTimB]{; < - - - - 'gTimB'
S=(T-gTimA)/(gTimB-gTimA)
tFunk = 6*pwr[S,5]-15*pwr[S,4]+10*pwr[S,3]
gPunk = 4.0 + 0.1 *tFunk

The same goes for banking, see if that helps at all, it really confused me for a while.

lol, I'm with Jake on this one.

Using the correct heartline value doesn't do anything you all said. What that does is make it so you get the forces you desire after you AHG with the heartline you specified.

It is possible to have both positive and negative forces with only one time zone.

"And increasing, then decreasing after a certain point is the top of a hill, right? Visa versa for a bottom?"
-Yeah, you're completely missing the whole concept behind FVD. You really need to try reading the readme before asking these questions.

It's not hard to make another account, and yet Seuss caught you with another one. I suggest you give up on FVD or get a better education and then tr yy them.

Uhh, I never made another one.

Thanks guitar player. I'll give that a go.

Edits: Something clicked and now I'm getting it. I feel kinda stupid now (like everyone said I would feel after I got it).

FVD is all notation, once you understand the notation, you should be able to make a coaster.

However, once you know how to use FVD, your understanding of how a rollercoaster actually works is important, how banking and g force affect each other. I'm not sure you know about that yet Xpress.

And no, i will not help you, you cant even spell my username. And Gerst is right, nearly everyone can FVD now, ask someone else :D
