not really much to say here, other than I went and had a great time. It was the first time i've been to this park in a few years, and I'm glad to see that it's still in great shape despite what you hear so often about the six flags chain. I wasn't so happy about the 15 dollar parking, but a friend i was with managed to snag me a free ticket where he works, so it more than evened out. Here's a rundown of what i rode:
Titan: My first time riding this one. I wasn't expecting much from what I've read, but it has it's good qualities. What it does, it does very well. I rode the back seat, and the pull of the first drop was very nice. I kind of like positive g's, so I enjoyed the helix parts too. the midcourse stop was kind of a kill joy, but it doesn't take long for it to pick up speed again after dropping into the helix.
Texas Giant: rode this one twice. I recall this not being so much fun last time i rode it due to the roughness, but it didn't really bother me much today. They are still slowing it down on the first drop, and at the midcourse, but couldn't tell that it was being slowed down all that much anywhere else. Rode in the back seat both times, and one of my friends that rode with me the first time wouldn't ride anything else for the rest of the day after getting off. what a pussy. lol
Runaway Mountain: Got in line for this, but the line was long and not really moving all that much. got back out of line. A shame. I liked this last time I rode it.
Shockwave: God, i still love this ride after all these years. Those loops still kick my ass, and the airtime hills afterward... wow. Rode this one in the back too, though there's really not a bad seat on this one.
Superman: TOP: I hate drop rides, but since everybody else was getting on it, I did too. This was the biggest letdown of the day. The line moved SLOW, especially after one side shutdown for awhile. After finally getting on it, I really wasn't all that impressed. About the only good thing I can say about this experience is that the seats were comfortable, and it was mighty nice to sit down for awhile after waiting so damn long. lol
Mr. Freeze: closed for the season... wtf?? this was the other letdown of the day. :/
I didn't ride any of the other rides. I had ridden them all many times before and was very tired, so I left.
Anyway, that's my report for the day. Overall, had a great time. Could have done without the monotonous halloween sound effects that were blaring everywhere, but after awhile, i managed to tune it out. Gotta monster headache now though. The park was still nice though, and very clean all day. And aside from Superman's line, everything moved fairly quick. Anybody visiting the DFW area should go this park. It's a good one. [:D]
