i just wish they'd apply this same sort of thinking to magic mountain. i do realize that magic mountain is close to la and has that sort of fast moving attitude to keep up with , but we here in california also love our classics.. .

They keep the American Eagle in really good condition.... same with Whizzer and Demon.

Great America's operations are the best I've seen.

I think you have a bias since all the Eagle does is squeal hardcore around all of the turns lol

This is great, good for Hank Salemi and SFGA. It's a shame that such things are pretty much always driven by local management who is passionate about something and works within the system to find the money and space to make it happen. Corporate SF has nothing to do with it, and while they will happily bask in the positive PR they will will probably step in to kill such projects if they see them being a threat to the bottom line (and shareholder profits).

If Hank Salemi leaves and someone from corporate SF takes over expect Little Dipper to be cleared for a drop tower or some such.

I've always been under the impression that a couple of the maintenance people at SFGAm were a bit rebellious because every year something little seems to pop up, most of it recently relating to pieces of the old Demon theming that were removed because of the religious nuts. The airbrushed logos and fire on the Demon trains look fantastic, and the random metal flames that appear on the Eagle are neat too. It's little things like that that make me think the maintenance people are a bit "different" than at other parks.

Unfortunately the AE fire is one of the blue trains only or it has been taken off, but still they bothered to cut it out and slap it on the front of the train lol.

A park will naturally attract employees who love parks and their rides (along with all those who just want to f**k around and collect a paycheck) and they will go the extra mile to try to improve things when they can, and that's fantastic. But this is also fairly dependent on management being open to it, if someone, say, put's a Micky hat on an out-of-the-way skeleton on some ride and gets fired for it, you're not going to see anyone else making such an effort. It sounds like SFGA has some pretty savvy management and they're giving their employees some leeway when they can.

Good to see.
