Sketch-up problem

So, I got a new computer and I am trying to use the follow me tool. Simple. I select what I want to follow get the follow me and then click on what you want to have follow. However, when I click on the follow me tool, it un-selects what I had selected. Now, I can't follow. What could be the reason for that?
