Congratulations to X on winning this contest! When you upload your park to the exchange, let me know and I'll place it in the contests section with an award next to it of couse [pshades] As you can see it was a tight competition beyween x, DE@NO and jpecool. Below everyone can find an explaination of their scores.

Android

I??????ll just talk you trough all the points on which the final result is based and explain the scores in the table.
Your park layout wasn??????t too great, the path structure was pretty confusing and maybe a path connecting both dead ends trough the mountain would have been good, an ok score here.
The ride theming was bad, it was pretty repetitive and lacked on most parts. Also building big steel rides above water looks very ugly when you leave them unthemed.
The park theming was even less, it was pretty much ??????Trees n?????? T.V.??????s ??????, since the queues were filled with TV??????s and almost the only park theming was trees. Spend some more time on theming the look of your park next time.
The ride balance also wasn??????t good, there hardly were any kiddy rides. The only rides kids could go on would be the observation tower, the flume and maybe the water coaster. But the park just lacks some simple boring rides. It??????s not only thrillseekers visiting your park you know.
The ride lay-outs were a better part of your park. The big steel ride had a good E>I>N value, just like the log flume. Just the mine train was a bit boring. Next time try to prevent building over water so much.
The pirate entrance was just there, but that??????s about it, it??????s not very original. Just an ok score.
The tavers didn??????t look very good either, I think it is also kind of weird, that you have all the roof parts in one direction on the big tavern, except for like 5 parts which face an other direction. Just a detail, but on these contests it is theming detail that counts.
The mine train was ok, like said before, could have used some more theming but it??????s there. So 30 points for that.
Overall: try to improve your theming and your park will end up way higher next time.

X

As you can see from the result chart your park was one of the best for this contest. At the moment I am typing this I don??????t know yet who is going to win but it looks good for you so far. Anyway, let??????s explain your scores.
The park layout was good, clear pathing, nicely done, maybe a path trough the mountain would have been good, connecting the two dead ends.
Ride theming was awesome, the fact that you don??????t have 200 points is because you built some rides above water which isn??????t such a good choice with steel rides in my opinion, it looks a bit bold and lacks theming.
The park theming was perfect, so you got a full score on this, all nicely done, the theming was creative and just looks stunning. Nicely done.
The ride balance was good, the park could have used some more gentle rides though.
The ride layouts were also nice, the 4d and launched coaster were pretty intense compared to their excitement ratings. Nice rides and nice details, like Fear??????s top hat over the path, that sure was?????? uhmm fearsome?
The pirate entrance is great with the entertainers patrolling on the building, nice. A nice creative building, full score again.
Another full score can be found on the tavers, also very nice, good theming. Not much more can be said.
??????Shock and aw?????? when I saw your insane mine train, an awesome creative, intense, exciting, totally on the insane?????? uhmm, however?????? ever seen such a boring ride? 30 points for it??????s presence and nice theming [;)]
Overall: A great park, nice theming, however the steel rides built over water with little theming were a shame.

Dragon2000

Maybe you expected a higher score for your park, but the main problem with your park is?????? it looks pretty much like candyland. The park has more colours in it than the biggest lollipop ever. So that is why you have low theming scores which basically flushes your park down the drain.
The park layout wasn??????t good, the two main island were just connected trough a small path on the side and the rest of the pathing structure was very confusing. Try to get some more straight, wide main paths with small paths branching of to the rides.
The ride theming, well like I said was just too much like candyland and it also wasn??????t that much. There is just things I don??????t really understand, why pick ice walls for your maze in a pirate themed park? Why all these happy colours? It might sounds like details, but this determines the entire look of the park.
The park theming had the same problem. So not much to explain here.
The ride lay-outs were ok, some had a E>I>N score and others were a bit boring, so overall an average score here.
The pirate entrance wasn??????t very creative, next time try something more impressive which would look good when standing in front of it.
The taverns were more like shops with a custom roof. The taverns were meant to be building which people can enter and go to shops, not just shops on a normal path with a roof over them. So a minimal score here.
The mine train didn??????t look very good being built over the water, maybe you could have spent some more attention on trying to theme it. However, for it??????s presence you got 30 points.
Overall: The park just had the wrong kind of theming which basically eliminated the park from this contest. Next time make sure you build as the objectives instruct you to.

DE@NO

At the moment I am typing this you and X both tied and have the same score of 910 points. I don??????t know yet what I am going to do about that, yet. It is a very hard decision since both parks look awesome but in a different way, your park is more subtle than X?????? park, but also very good looking. Anyway, let me explain your scorings first.
The park layout was great, there was just one flaw in the perfect layout which might meant the difference between winning and a tie. The problem was that you didn??????t connect the exit of Caribbean Crusher.
The ride theming was gorgeous, just perfect. There is so much detail in this park, every little bit of each ride is themed. So a perfect score here.
The park theming was also pretty to look at, but I thought it also took up a bit too much space in cases which resulted in a low score on your ride balance. You just have about 10 rides in your park which just isn??????t enough. There is a lack of exciting rides, maybe a log flume and some cool flatrides would have solved this problem. But as it is now, the park just needs more rides.
The ride lay-outs were great though, the both coasters had a E>I>N score and looked very nice, so did the kart racing track and well, everything. 80 points here.
The pirate entrance looked impressive, however it looked like it was placed the wrong way round. The roofs ending up with their open part to the edge of the park was a bit weird. Anyway, it still looks good but it is a bit strange.
The tavern near the kart ride looks awesome, not much more to say about it, just perfect.
The mine train was a nice ride which gives you another full score. Again very nicely themed, just a little flaw on the exit of the ride, but I already mentioned that on the park layout.
Overall: Awesome park with a subtle look, maybe a bit too subtle with such a small amount of rides.
Now I found out I made a little error in the scoring: I gave you a 100 points for park layout while you had a flaw on an exit path, so you just got 90 points left, overall, 900, thus a 9, thus you come in second place. That??????s the way the cookie crumbles?????? [:P]

Jpecool

You had a good shot at winning this contest, however there was just one thing which kept you from it, theming. The theming was very nice but also very repetitive which eventually cost you too many points to win this one.
The park layout was good, maybe a bit too much branching of the paths, so 80 of 100 points. Next time try to get a main path structure already starting at the entrance of the park. To see what I mean you can look at DE@NO??????s park since it is in the exchange.
The ride theming was good and so was the park theming, it actually looked very impressive just due to the sheer size of all your buildings. The downside was that these buildings were very repetitive and not really creative. So that is why you don??????t have full scores on these aspects.
The ride balance was perfect, some gentle rides, exciting rides, water rides and coasters. Good to keep every visitor happy.
The ride lay-outs were ok, they could have used some more attention since some of the rides were a bit too intense compared to their excitement scores.
The pirate entrance looked good but again repetitive. Next time really try to be more creative with the shapes of building.
The tavern at the entrance also looked good, it housed some shops so you got a full score on this one.
The mine train was nice but also had a high intensity rating and therefore you have 40 points instead of the maximum 50.
Overall: a very good looking park with potential to win, wasn??????t it that the competition was very good this time. Next time try to put your focus some more on creating more creative theming.

KFobe02

Well?????? errr?????? as you can see you didn??????t do really good in the contest, but I also don??????t think you expected something else. But you already told that on the forum. The main problem in this case was just that you stuffed the park with thrills while there wasn??????t any room for these humongous coasters. Let??????s talk to your scorings.
The park layout wasn??????t good the path structure was like a giant maze, next time try to make some good clear main paths which branch out to the rides.
The ride theming was well?????? horrible. The colours alone of the rides were revolting. I don??????t really get why you go with colours like this while you know this should be a pirate themed island. Common sense would say go with greys, browns, blacks etc. Also the fact that you built some coaster completely on water wasn??????t a good choice really, first of all it is hard, if not impossible to make a coaster look good on water since you can??????t really theme it, not that you tried though. Also try keeping theming in one style, don??????t go mix stuff because it just won??????t look good. The park theming also has problems, there is theming but it is all a bit of everything, there??????s just a few places in the park which have a pirate look. Next time try to stick with the pirate theme and pirate colours. It is hard to explain but you??????ll see what I mean if you take a look at DE@NO??????s park for example.
The ride balance was a bit of, there was just too much thrills, however you also had quite some gentle rides so it wasn??????t too bad, but not perfect.
Then the pirate entrance looked revolting with just some Halloween objects stacked on top of a boring tower, try to be creative next time, try to make some cool shaped building. Just make a shape with walls and than finish it with different levels of wall heights and different roof directions and it will come out nicely.
The tavern was again a simple shape, simple looking, just boring, with again some odd coloured signs on it. When theming something also make sure you stick to a colour scheme, only use colours that look good with each other, don??????t mix anything what you run into.
The mine train wasn??????t too good either, built entirely above water without any theming and again revolting colours it isn??????t pretty. Just 20 points for it??????s presence.
Overall: Try to be more creative with the theming, keep the theming in one style and stick to a colour scheme. Do not focus on building thrills, focus on building a good looking park. When building rides realize you have to theme them, so an enormous coaster hardly ever looks good, go with smaller rides which are easier to theme and last but not least, do not build big rides entirely above water, just small parts can be built above it, but not the entire thing.

Allright that's it. Of course you can PM me with any questions. I am sorry it took so long to get the results done, but after I waited a few days for skullkeeperz entry I got a few promotional video orders, a home video order and a website order which all had to be done with tight deadlines. Sorry again, and don't let this stop you from joining another RCT 2 contest [;)]

OMG one piece of damn path.......................it is going to haunt me for the rest my life now. .1 to a path. I agree I should of tried to bring in a better ride balance. My downfall was the fact I didnt build much over the water. If I had built over water more it would of had more rides, but I would of lost out on the whole "clean" look of the park that I went for. The island itself is not very big. Once you start building on it you find you can run out of room very easily.

Im glad you liked the tavern next to the go kart ride. Out of the whole park that is the building I spent the most time on, and im happy to see it paid off.

I wasnt completley happy with the entrance either. I dont know why I did it the way I did. If I had another chance I would definatley redo the whole entrance.

overall I take this as just another learning experience in playing the game. I have to be happy with 2nd because if andy had of entered himself I would of ended up being 3rd.

Don't worry, DE@NO... you have more than twice as many weekly medals as everyone else on the entire website, and one little loss in a contest won't make anyone think any differently of you. There will be plenty of other contests, and if you learned from this contest, that will make you even harder to beat next time.

Thank you for judging my park. I realize I did pretty horrible, but I am still glad I entered my park to be judged. This is my first contest with RCT2 and just so ya'll know, I didn't have any expectations on winning. I just wanted to hear the opinions of some experienced RCT 2 designers. So I thank you for that. Thank you G Force for the comments, as I will take all of them into consideration when I try my next RCT 2 contest.

I hope you didn't think my park was a waste of time or anything, as like I said before, I am very inexperienced. However, once again, Thank you for judging all the entries and mine. Congratulations to X winning the contest as well!
