El Toro was the last major Intamin in the US without shoulder restraints, and looking to make the most comfortable and highest quality product without compromising safety is a great reason to redesign restraints. It's really that simple.

It's ok, I won't judge you if you're mad that you live in the Netherlands and this incredible coaster with minimalist restraints is a couple hours from me. It's understandable. :P

haha, I'm not mad, I just hate everybody getting their hopes up for lap bars and then it turns out to be OTSRs.

I haven't followed the entire construction, so I am not aware of everything that hershey said, but at this point, I am not entirely convinced that this ride have only a lap bar as restraint.

But believe when I hope for everybody that will get to ride this thing that it will have no shoulder restraint. It upsets me to see 'simple' hypercoasters and megacoasters that have OTSRs for all the wrong reasons.

Sooo...where is said shoulder restraint going to attach? Are they going to drill holes on site? That in itself already sounds pretty illogical.

Well, in Intamin's case, lap bars have just been a source of trouble. The redundancy of their new restraints with OTSRs is all because of fat people, stupid people, and even more stupid ride operators.
Oh, were you expecting something here?

[lol] Yesssss

I don't think the restraint design that they have on the trains now would permit the addition of the shoulder straps, as DCs just noted^... I doubt they will anyhow. If anything, Intamin will go back and change something about the track if it's too harsh for riders....coughmaverickcoughi305

I thought seeing many new replies since this morning meant it was finally testing, -_-
What are these for?

Well honestly it looks like everything is done except the queue railings (which will take no time) and testing. Assuming everything goes well in testing I would assume May will easily be feasible, but I have been hearing Memorial Day weekend all along (and am planning a trip that weekend) so I would still say that is the target date.

Nooo. My school goes on the 23rd. >:(

This is part of my ever growing "fat people ruin everything" list.

I love how open these trains are. The outside seat is going to be amazing.

Oh my god...that first airtime hill honestly caught me off guard when I watched it the first time...that's going to be some absolutely WICKED airtime. This is looking to be one of the best rides ever, I would say.

Intamin doing 4 seat cars just feels so weird... but I love it! Looks like it's going to be a seriously good addition to the park.

And the middle seats are so high up it's almost like they are floorless anyway

New testing video with different views of the ride! The lift hill seems to be at full speed and man does that thing fly over whole course!
