A rater on one of my coasters recently said that "I needed to learn how to slip" as it would "enhance my tracks, especially twisty tracks." I have never heard of this term before.

Can anyone tell me exactly what it is and how to incorporate it into my tracks? thanks [:D]

Are you sure he didn't mean split?

If he meant split, you have too few vertices and you need to make some more or split the ones you have. You can do this by highlighting a track segment, either right-clicking or in the 'Segment' menu find Split-Up, and click it. A vertex will be added in the center of the segment. This will allow you to make smoother transitions. BE ADVISED that too many vertices are also a problem because they are more noticeable and you do not want to be able to tell where a vertex is while in the simulator.

If he truly did mean slip, then I have no idea. [;)]

slip is slightly heartlining something, where the track moves over a bit to have a lead in but its not enough to completely be called heartlining. An example of this is the first drop of GhostRider.

Yeah, thats kinda what I thought they were. It's a pain in the @ss to make it smooth though. Especially when you have a drop into a turn, I got aggrivated and junked a Schwarzkopf Jumbo Jet type coaster because I couldn't get the slips right.

Slipping shouldn't be a pain, slipping should make the track MUCH easier to smooth. Once I started doing heartlining and slipping, my tracks came out much smoother, easier to build, and faster to make because less time is spent trying to get out stubborn g spikes
