I'm sure most of you have heard of the ride called Son of Beast. The tallest and fastest wooden roller coaster to strike the world. Son of Beast is located at Cedar Fairs, Kings Island located in Mason, Ohio close to Cincinnati. We'll recently I've been hearing that the Son of Beast is going. I go to Kings Island and last year the ride was closed half the year and has been closed this whole year. My guess is its going! They have removed the sign in the park next to the queue line saying Son of Beast. The ride has been removed off the park map also. The cars are removed off the track too. I've seen videos were they were talking about getting rid of it. I have rode this many times its fun but it can really hurt you and thats one of the reason for it going down to many people are getting hurt on the ride. R.I.P. Son of Beast. Also the ride is known for the first wooden roller coaster to loop but after the accident the loop was removed from the ride.
I would like to see those videos of them saying there thinging about removing the ride. In April they said removing the ride was not brought up. They contacted 3 engineering firms for a pernament fix. One of the firms declined and no information has been realsed about it since.
Hmmmm,I've never ridden it,but I think since the removal of the loop it has lost much of its charakter...
But it would be fine when they make a makeover like Texas Giant and add the loop again!Well it wouldn't be a real woodie anymore but I don't care about records, fun has priority.
I never have been to kings island before, I've heard really fun. I bet son of beast was preaty painful with how old and fast it is. go to hersheypark they have the best roller coasters ever or go to dorney they have good coasters too.
So who takes responsibility for a major failure like this? The engineering company, or the park? Shouldn't the company who engineered the coaster have to show some accountability for a coaster which didn't even last 6 years? Surely they have to be warrantied somehow.
Although I'm not a big fan of wooden coasters, I really don't see why people are offended at the Texas Giant rehab. The coaster was obviously junk in it's wooden form. I'd rather have a hybrid fun coaster than one less coaster. Coming from the car world I can compare it to people getting upset when others swap V8 american engines into 4 cylinder japanese cars. I just don't see why people get offended over things like this.
