Stop the slagging off!

Maybe I'm out of line for posting this. Maybe I'm not. But I have noticed lately that in the reviews for peoples coasters, some individuals are posting some really uncalled for nasty and cruel remarks. I thought the reviews were meant to be for constructive criticism to help people in building better quality coasters in the future? Some reviews don't have any tips on how to make the ride better but instead just have demeaning comments.

Am I being a "doogooder"? I don't think so. Fact is, a hostile atmosphere is going to do more to cause people to want to stop posting tracks and leave this site. Constructive criticism and a competitive spirit will do more to make people want to post more and do better.

Can we please keep the rude comments to ourselves and be more helpful and less hurtful? We all know how big of a pain in the deriaire the NoLimits editor can be at times. Helping each other with tips and tricks to make track building easier and more fun would be a great way to move forward.

It's not everyone I'm referring to. Just a few and some of these people are newbies as well.

some reviews sounds mean because they only give up the bad things about the coaster. But some people just notice the bad things about the coaster that isn't like the real one or that it isn't realistic, And they tell what's wrong. sometimes you can fix things very easy my smoothing the track a bit out, or even moving one of the control poitns of the vertex so that the design is more in shape. Everyone else does give ratings on different ways. This user uses the T,A,O ratings (technical,adrennaline,originality/accury), and someone else does tell everything what he likes and dislikes, and another person does only want some points so they rate, nice track well done, or like, bad track can be much better, and they are done.
What i'm trying to say is everyone else does rate different, one person does complain and someone else does give tips. You can't just ban people because they only complain about coasters...
Also you can learn from those complaints if they say your coaster have too high g-'s, you can check the coaster where the high g-'s are and you can fix them by improving that part. Every conpaint gives some info about the coaster so that that part can be improved or deleted.

I agree with you completly. The standards of ratings have gone downhill these days. It seems although a member takes the time to rate a coaster, they dont take the time to rate the coaster properly which is a shame...im tired, need food...im off

I try to add as much description when I rate - and try to keep the upsetting comments to a minimum. Sometimes you can get frustrated at the quality of the ride your reviewing, and you have to try and add some "oomph" to your message to make them realise that it isnt a great ride like there description says.

I usually write long reviews, but if I get ticked off at something about the ride, such as the creator not selecting the cartexture, my review is usually a rant. Then I edit it afterwards. When I ride, I usually don't spend much time with the details, such as testing to see if the back seat delivers too much airtime. Sometimes, I jsut don't feel like rating at all. When growing as an enthusiast, most of the time, I didn't have any wws or whatever to fall back on. I had to figre things out and learn by myself. I did go to c2k and DLed tracks there. I also saw ratings and stuff, which even helped me myself. But I never go ther anymore. I wanted to join, but didn't have the proper email, blah blah blah. (it's a long story I don't want to get into.) I joined WWS about a mounth ago.
