I made a small tool to help raise the minimum fps on woodies. Get it here:
http://d1jlserver.dnsalias.net/CCDev2/p ... fm?fid=455
This small tool will optimize the supports on wooden coasters (also works on steel) by connecting all in-line-supports to a single support. This reduces the overall amount of supports and therefor raises fps in the sim.
While the average fps will only raise a bit (1-15% depending on the track) the minimum fps experienced on large woodies will be a lot higher (I saw gains from 20%-60%).
The bigger, higher, straighter the coaster, the more can be optimized. On a very large woodie that had 150,000 supports it reduced the amount to roughly 50,000 and minimum fps went from 7 to 17...
Big thanx have to go to Tia who greatly helped me to reduce the processing time.
I recommend using this when you are 100% done with your design. As it will connect all the supports, you'll have a hard time editing the structure if you notice a mistake. Therefor better make sure everything is allright before you optimize and upload.

PS: As it also optimizes the handrails, they might not look right. The supports holding the handrail might stick through. If you don't like that, just delete the single handrail and replace it with segmented handrails. This should only take a few minutes to do as all the nodes are allready in place.
Also, if you have a VERY large lift, the handrail might disappear if you run the sim on low or normal quality. This is due to the LOD settings. Be assured that the handrails are there and people with qualitysettings on good or high will see them no problem.
