Likely LOD settings. NL will "unsmooth" track when it gets further away to save on processing.

By bigger, they mean more complex, more elements, not just taller and longer. I have an invert that does the same amount of elements in probably a 3rd of the space.
What are these for?

Might not look quite as bad if it had a lot of terrain and tree interaction. It does look kinda force-less but only a POV would be able to determine that for sure. Pretty sure a GCI would want to pack more eventfulness in there.
