The PETA letter states- "Presumably, the cockroach was chosen for this 'gag' because of the species' extremely negative image. However, this much-maligned invertebrate possesses keen senses, is quite docile and has an amazing evolutionary history.

"Every creature on earth is ideally suited to its purpose, whether we know what that purpose is or not. It is unlikely that the purpose of Madagascar hissing cockroaches is to serve as appetizers for an unimaginative marketing scheme."

Some activist groups complain about alot, but PETA takes it to the highest level of stupidity.

hahaha.. do people actually keept Hissing Cockroaches as pets? shouldn't we tell them that's a bad idea?

anyway, i hate cockroaches. they're gross. even their name is gross. eat them, stomp on them, do whatever. that's one animal i wouldn't mind NOT existing.

dammit i dont think they're doing this promotion at SF great adventure (which i'm going to this weekend for frightfest[:p])
I'm not sure that I would eat the cockroach, but with a sufficient amount of peer pressure, i could probably get one of my friends to do it.

Actually, the NAACP usually gives them a pretty good run for their money. [lol]

peta is lame... has always been lame, will always be lame.. it embodies lameness in its truest form, they should just have peta in the dictionary under Lame, it can be a picture of some spoiled chick with matted hair protesting outside of magic mountain with her freind the human pincushion. .. .. that's where it wins in my opinion , by a long shot..

The tards protesting Iraqi soldier funerals and the tards protesting the Amish kid funerals. Interestingly enough almost all of these hate groups are "Baptist Church of ________".

Sigh ... he is actually talking about this lady:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qCdT9dfr ... 20Banderas

However, no one protested the Amish funerals:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjamw7vN ... ed&search=

OK. Let's get the real meat of this reply. This lady and the church, I use that word very loosley she attends (founded and led by her father), is NOT a Baptist anything. I mean, look at the website address: http://www.godhatesfags.com/ Of course, they use the word "fags" (defined as "a bundle of sticks"); as in that is what everyone who does not believe what they do is and "we" will be used as fuel for satan's fire. However, honestly they are merely hoping that their use of the word will get them more than 15 minutes of fame. Dude, when you are going to generalize, at least LEARN what the heck you are talking about.

Secondly: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westboro_Baptist_Church

Direct quote: Its members identify themselves as Baptists; the church is an independent Baptist church not affiliated with any known Baptist conventions or associations. The church describes itself as following Primitive Baptist and Calvinist principles, though it has been accused by others of Hyper-Calvinism.

Now, I am not going to take the time to educate you on what Calvinism is or Primitive Baptist are (because frankly, you would just not get it and find more idiotic comments to make) -- but let us just say you can compare it like this so that you can understand:

When you are in the bathroom taking a dump, you use toilet paper. They are so stupid that they are still using their hands to clean themselves. Understood?

Well, Coasterkid is right that Baptists are commonly behind these pointless effed up protests and such, but that is only because Baptist is such a broad and ambiguous term nowadays with too many subcategories to count.

Yeah, you ought to sit and listen to the leader give a message (there are MP3s available) ... talk about wandering off in the distance ... wow. He could not keep on a point if is life depended on it.
