Also, I just noticed that he hasn't implemented the lift chain model yet. Given the amount of work put into the rest of these things, I'm excited to see how realistic that will be.

What I'm interested in is the sound. Will B&M coasters have that whiny roar? Will Intamin rides be eerily quiet? I want to know. :D

Intamin rides are quiet? My experience of Intamins is like, Colossus, Stealth, Rita... I definitely wouldn't describe those rides as quiet [lol]

I like that the heptagons and octagons are gone. The tubes are pretty much like circles now.

i like those support.. does this mean that wooden coasters will be getting a better supporting system

NL2 is much the same as NL1 in many ways. The biggest changes are textures,graphics.

You forgot to mention the incredible myriad of new features, the WYSIWYG editor, and the fact that we will have the ability to include more than one track per file.

I'm not saying its not going to be good, as it will be better than NL1. Many are expecting this full blown new coaster sim from NL2. Much of NL2 is created from NL1.I said the biggest changes are to the textures and graphics. This can be seen in the screens. Yes there are some new features some that have not even been shown or talked about. i wish I could say more but I can't...

Allen, NL2 is using a COMPLETELY different engine than NL1.

NL2 is made from scratch. nothing was built off of NL1. ;)

Putting aside the ever-present b!tchfest in every thread, I'm really impressed with the details with which Ole and his team are taking their time. The little things that get me going crazy are the subtle textures of rust, the realistic B&M track-support connectors, the beautiful nuts and bolts on every flange, and those little white lines of wear along the track rail. I'm super excited for this, and I am willing to wait years for them to perfect it. I'm stoked for the new sounds he's going to implement; with the level of detail they're already providing, I'm willing to bet each coaster company's track style will have its own signature track roar and lift clanking sound (the B&M's will have a set of sounds, the Arrows, the Intamins, etc). What an incredible programmer; reflect on what he has already done to make NL1 amazing.
