Please don't use caps, there annoying, irritating and unwanted.
But from what I read from your post is that you like taking other peoples rides, Slightly move a couple nodes and upload it as your creation? If you call that fun, good for you. But we don't call that fun.
There is something called common sense. When someone creates something, it's their work. If you want to use (parts) of it. Common sense usually says that you should ask politely, if you can use their work. Simple.

After using the search function, I didn't find anything in this topic about what I want to address, so here it is:
I think it would be nice to have the ability to password protect the track info. That way you can claim your copyright on your track, so even if someone steals the track and modifies it, it will still be licensed to you. Of course, someone could try to figure out the password, thereby removing your ownership, but I think making an 8-16 character password would definitely decrease that risk.
Personally I think that's a great idea. It would be cool if you could protect your work with a password. But then again, why not go a small step further and protect the whole ride from manipulation (Or copying) and password protect various edit functions in the editor.
The way I see that function then is just a simple option somewhere in a dropdown menu as: "Password Protection."
After clicking on that it opens first a smaller window where it would ask the password (only when it's enabled). With a correct password you would get the option to change the password and then tick or select how protected you want your trackfile. For example:
Disabled: Everything is possible, no (password) protection anywhere.
Light: Editing Info disabled.
Medium: Editing Info disabled, Save element disabled.
Heavy: Read Only Mode, you cannot edit, copy (by saving elements for example) or even adjust a setting from a trackpiece.
That's just some small brainstorming on expanding the protection idea. Everyone can choose their own way of protecting their files. [:)]
