I was bored with the standard desktop layout, so, here's mine now:

^Where did you get that picture? I'd like to throw it into my changing Mac desktop album.

Also Gouldy, is that Rainmeter? Looks nice.

It is Rainmeter, with "A Simple Solution" skin. Pretty versatile skin, easy to edit and modify.

The wallpaper is something I threw together for it, but it's a bit rubbish. Have switched to just completely black now.

I'm using a picture I took last week of the Comcast Center and One Liberty Place, the 2 tallest buildings in Philadelphia.
What are these for?

Because I get bored of stuff quickly...

Everything is there, just invisible. This way, if someone else wants to use it, I have to use it for them and they just tell me what they want. I crap myself when someone asks if they can use my computer [lol]

Props to anyone who gets the reference here. Went to a Skrillex concert this past weekend and these guys were there as well. I caught a banana, it was soaked in champagne. A surprisingly good combination.

Got a pretty sizable screen at work now but I've struggled to find a nice image to do justice to the screen size, i.e. an image that has a large enough resolution but is also of something I like [lol] So, just gone with some colour splashy wavy type thing...

Basically this is my way of saying; guys, do you know to any decent images of coasters in this resolution?

I've got some hi-res pictures of some coasters that I took myself; some of them I think are pretty cool. I could send a few if you'd like.

Apparently not. Apparently, according to the email server, 29MB = 45MB, and thus it won't send...

Oh. Well enjoy your 3 copies of each picture [lol]

@TheArchitect: now that I think about it, I think I've allowed full-resolution downloads of my picasa albums...https://picasaweb.google.com/108479758927139989021
If you can't get full-res versions, I'll upload a few of them, probably to my public dropbox folder.

trying ubuntu out

I run both Vista and Ubuntu on this laptop, after having wanted to try Ubuntu for a bit because of the general shattiness of Vista. I liked Ubuntu quite a lot, but Vista is still easier to use just for everyday stuff (apart from internet browsing, which is also a piece of piss on Ubuntu), so I ended up just pretty much sticking with Vista. But I am SO glad for still running both operating systems on this laptop. Ubuntu has saved my laptop's life on 3 separate occassions after I was stupid on Vista

The new Ubuntu seems kinda Mac-ish (simplicity based) but with some deeper sophistication. Like a Windows/Mac blend. Problem is, it's one of the lesser compatible platforms b/c it's Linux. Certainly not bad, but not the best either.
