This looks really great so far! I admire your patience and dedication! I've been wanting to make a Smiler-esque ride for quite awhile.

Well looky here, the project is not dead! After a long and stressful exam season, and a period of lack of motivation, I have finally decided to finish off this recreation. I'm still not 100% on the track however I have been working on it for 5 months solid and I think I am being too over critical on myself. If I carry on I'd never say enough is enough and I could be working on it for another 5 months so the version now is final.

Also to note is that some details of the area, X-Sector, and The Smiler Shop, will be missing, purely because Nemesis94 and myself do not have the time to model every single detail and if I forced myself to do so, this would again go on forever so please forgive me for that. If this model is included in the AT Mega Project (not decided yet), then addtional details may be added then however as of now I'd say 90-95% of the detail is there with just small omissions, and that's where it will be left or this would never be released and personally, Nemesis94 and I don't want to keep people waiting anymore as it's been 2.5 years in the making. We both need to move on with our own projects and so are doing our best for this release. We hope you understand this and would like to thank everyone for their support. I have the supports to redo still however all scripts and scenery elements are now in place so we are nearing completion.

So again, thanks to everyone and prepare to Smile. Soon.

you mean you might do a recreation of the whole of alton towers in NL2?

@skyscraper: There's no official release as of yet but we can tell you that you will be smiling. Soon. And no, we're not recreating Alton Towers however another group of people are and they have asked if this Smiler recreation can be included in that.

@barone: Thank you for the kind compliments barone but I cannot take complete credit. JTech Developments is solely my work but the amazing models in this recreation were made by a friend under the username of Nemesis94. If it wasn't for him starting this 2 years ago it wouldn't be here today. My part has been track, supports and scripting to get the ride as realistic as possible. But thanks again, we both really appreciate it.

Too bad I haven't ridden the real ride so far, but from what I can compare on photos. It looks extremely good! Keep on going!

I have heard that the ride is good, but the cobra roll is deadly and so are the final two rolls.

Thanks Dirk! Hopefully one day you can.

I think the ride is a marvel in engineering and it's insane to think that they managed to fit so much into what looks like an inconceivably small space. But yes, the cobra roll is quite a harsh jolt, no idea how they got the profiling wrong on that bit. In the past year the ride has actually gotten a lot smoother (credit to AT there), and the other jolts have become way less noticeable, I definitely smile every time I ride!

People bash this ride because they are butthurt that AT didn't add the washing machine element. I think the ride looks amazing, except the OTSR's. Lap bars all the way!
