"The Bush administration is preparing to ease the way for the nation's largest private landowner to convert hundreds of thousands of acres of mountain forestland to residential subdivisions.

The deal was struck behind closed doors between Mark E. Rey, the former timber lobbyist who oversees the U.S. Forest Service, and Plum Creek Timber Co., a former logging company turned real estate investment trust that is building homes. Plum Creek owns more than 8 million acres nationwide, including 1.2 million acres in the mountains of western Montana, where local officials were stunned and outraged at the deal.

"We have 40 years of Forest Service history that has been reversed in the last three months," said Pat O'Herren, an official in Missoula County, which is threatening to sue the Forest Service for forgoing environmental assessments and other procedures that would have given the public a voice in the matter. "

I don't really understand why everyone hates Bush.

Bush doesn't do I Love You!. He's a pawn.
Don't hate him, hate the "Bush Administration" and the government in general.

Bush really isn't that stupid, he just sucks at public speaking.

When something goes wrong in the assembly line, the person responsible is the supervisor.
When a marketing project is a failure, the person to blame is the project manager.
The supervisor nor manager did the actions to cause the failure but they are the ones responsible of making sure the people do what they should be doing right. Therefore it is their responsibility to take the blame.
Back to the point, Bush is a dumbass.

... says the broke-down guy in Lynwood. [lol]

However, yes, the one in charge does take the heat -- doesn't necessarily make it proper, especially in silly deals like this one.

Now is the time for the 26% approval rating to drop to somewhere around 5%.

1. CO2 PWNS the environment, not Bush. 2. I'm about 100% that a HURRICANE caused the devastation of Katrina, not Bush. 3. OPEC controls oil prices, not the leader of the free world. You think he likes paying $4.30 a gallon too? And I am also pretty sure terrorists had a helping hand in the middle east, but that's just me.

+1 on EyeKanFlyII... Although I don't really like the guy, most of tehis stuff is not really his fault, it just gets tacked on him.

i don't care who is responsible for that shiz as long as it doesn't happen, everyone is talking about saving the planet, doing their bit when suddenly the american government decides, hey lets bulldoze hundreds of life-giving trees to make way for some crappy houses, yay!

no... what's the point? i mean build them on an empty plot of land where we don't destroy things essential for our survival. I'm sorry but that is pplain and simple retarded, give me one good reason why they should actually go ahead with this thing.

Sorry I kinda agree with Oscar's position that the supervisor gets the blame. That is how it works.

I really want to post something in this discussion, but I could care less about some person complain about Bush again.

As soon as Obama makes his first mistake, I'm pretty sure the U.S. will hate him too. You should probably look at what Obama has in plan for America. We need to grow out of our dependency on oil, but Obama is promoting offshore drilling in the Gulf of Mexico. But at the same time, more hurricanes are predicted to occur more in the future. Has anybody seen pictures of what an oil spill looks like?
Oh, were you expecting something here?

I don't really understand how that has to do with anything.
Plus, you took the quote out of context.

I should have said: "I understand why everyone hates Bush, but it's for all the wrong reasons"
We don't have a very good government right now, they can't seem to get anything done. Hopefully Obama or McCain will be better, but chances are...

I don't really understand how that has to do with anything.

Because you are stupid. Helen Keller was deaf and blind and literally, dumb. Thus, ye must be to think this way. Are you sure that you are not related to her?

The rest of your post still has me shaking my head.

You could be related to someone that is blind, deaf, or dumb, but that doesn't mean you are too.
