Oscar, please lock this topic. although it started out as an actual mature conversation about how this would be something bad, to which I completely agree, but this has turned into a giant flame war. Honestly, why can't you just say love it and let people believe what they want to believe. If you attempt to force your religion on others or generalize that "all Muslims are extremists" you're just as bad as the extremists, who force their religion upon others and generalize that "all Americans are infidels who want to destroy you."

Okay, now THAT is going too far. The terrorists are not Muslims, they are rejected by the remaining 99% of the (quite peaceful) Muslim community. The only reason this is even happening is because several of the Muslim countries are overreacting to a few demonstrations (which I absolutely deplore said demonstrations) made by a small number of rather racist Americans. The problem with this is that with insta-media, situations like this are overblown because they circulate around the world so quickly.

Because we are such a large and powerful nation (we are one of the permanent security council nations I might add), and the fact that 98% of the citizens of one of the UN's most influential factions agrees against this, (and undoubtedly many more western governments) this will NOT go down without a very nasty, drawn out fight. Plus, you have to take a look at the number of nations: 57 vs. 136. That's not going to pass with the current numbers.
