Tmv8888 has an idea

So, i haven't been here for a while, mainly because this place is a ghost town these days. While sitting here thinking, i came upon a pretty interesting idea. Alot of us can only download 3 tracks a day. (bullpoop, never used to be like that).

What if underneath the "track of the week" section, we had another 5 tracks, that were just randomly generated, and could be downloaded by anybody, premium member or not. As long as they're randomly generated i see no issue with this, plus it will be a blast to the past for some members and generally make the community more interesting.

Thoughts and discussion are welcome.

I think a random track which changes Every refresh just like RCDB is nice

That seems like a really fantastic idea. I don't know how easy that would be to implement, though, is the problem. But I would totally 100% support it.

Couple years ago we had said feature, it was dislike by the majority so it was removed.

I would like it, it's not like there is enough people to dislike it now, as it is a ghost town.

I'm somewhat glad that people are liking my idea. I hope somehow we can put this into motion. make the site a better place.

If this is a ghost town then CoasterFuel is like a haunted cemetery.

^This. There hasn't been a post in 10 days! It seems like our members all disappeared. It used to be loads of fun with about 15 active members, but... we're down to 3. Compared to Coaster Fuel this site is crazy active.

A couple years ago we didn't had a download limit that was this strict...

But I'm seeing some ideas in this. But since the exchange is bombed with crap it would be nice to see a limitation on which tracks would be random each hour/day/week. For example tracks with ratings from 10 to 5 and all non-rated tracks.

I would like it, but I think there might be a problem on getting those random tracks working in such way, that it doesn't go off your regular download limit.

^ i agree, it would be difficult, and putting a random filter on it like that would also make it very difficult. i slightly disagree with your rating idea. On the surface its fine, but there are quite a few good rides that i'm sure never got rated out there. By that logic, we'd have to stick with completely random. However, you are 100% correct when you say the exchange gets "bombed with crap" every day. It would be a shame to see alot of great yet unrated tracks miss the random downloads section.

One more thing I have to add, if we make the random download section rating based, it would certainly inspire people to rate a bit less hesitantly. So dirk, not a bad idea at all really.

Dirk was suggesting that rides that haven't been rated should be included in the random list.
