This will be the first one of the Touchpad series. That's because since a few weeks i'm also playing NoLimits on my laptop. But since i don't have a mouse for the laptop it's the touchpad i'm working on.
Now i recently have lots of free time at school, a free hour between classes. So I started working on a new ride. And since today i finished the trackwork and started off with some supporting. Probably during the week slowly the ride will get the more finished. It all depends on the free hours.
This time i went for the floorless type and since i like to build compact. It's a new compact floorless. I did a tunneltest and so far no hits with the existing supports or track. I can say, the quality of the track will be a little less, since it has been created all on a touchpad. But it shouldn't ru?????????n the fun. Right?

Anyway, to get you peeps a bit hyped up about the ride are here a few screens.

It's difficult to build, but once you get it a bit under control, it isn't that hard anymore. I hope to get next weekend some screens of the finished results. Only a little bit supporting left. And i hope to have it fully done by then to might upload it around monday evening. (i could add trees that day [:D])

Anyway, expect a next update in a week [:)]

you could call it like that. But it's just, with smoothers and tools it's just unrealistic smooth! Aka, too smooth to be real... Also, i've tried tools a bit and they really ruin the fun of building a coaster totally by hand [:)] And this time, touchpad is one step more difficult then the normal mouse [:D]

Unrealistically smooth? Coasters are designed with millions of calculations, sometimes up to a calculation every couple inches.

To each his own. I still find it fun and I bet I log more hours than you do per coaster and per element. It doesnt take out the difficulty. In most cases, because you do certain things faster, it makes you focus on other parts that still you cant do. I dont use much math. I still hand smooth and use the smoother and then AHG but only after Ive perfected it by hand.

I just dont get how its too smooth to be real... real as in real life or real as in...not sure, lol.

carry on!

Urealistically smooth ey? Well, Real couldn't have said it better so I won't touch it.
But man, trust me, I've been on both sides of this stance. I grew up hand-building and still do. But tools are great. It takes the two hours I just spent heartlining a zero-g roll and smacks it into a much smaller time frame.
I'm not the best with tools, however, the little that I do know has helped a lot of my coasters greatly. It's not a sin to use tools. It's great if you can and do build by hand but don't bitch about tool use. I haven't had a tool user complain about my hand-building yet, so I have no reason to whine about tools.

Im into Pure handbuilding. I think the heartliner is okay in some instances though, but nothing beats a good natural track.

How is it only ok in some instances and either not at all or completely all the time? There are many things that are unattainable by hand unless you can build in 4ft segments.

good luck with the touchpad!

After a few more lessons i finally finished the last few supports. Maybe soon a nice terrain around it with tons of trees [:D] Trying to do that tommorrow... Also, i'm currently working on the logo at school, I can say, it looks already pretty nice, but not finished yet... [:)] Maybe with some luck i would have the logo finished on monday, depends on if any hours will fall out...

Anyway, i guess you guys and gals want more screens, Well... Here ya have them:

The dive loop looks a little undersupported, imo. adding a support higher up might amke it look more stable.

Looking good dirk, although i also think part is under supported. The turn nearest the "camera" on the "how straight the lift is" picture, looks very unsupported in one part. However i reckon the dive loop looks alright.

it looks undersupported beacause one support is connected to another support with a beam. It's just the angle. Also the forces in that turn isn't so extreme high...
