So the track's name would be track tennis 2? Would you really want to go on a roller coaster called Track Tennis Match 2? lol. Plus, it would be sort of hard to theme...[:D]

Any other suggestions? I'm starting up a poll very soon; and so far I only have 4 possible names.

Cool. Those will be on the poll. But I think track tennis names should have something to do with group work, like these, which have all been used:

Group Therapy
Too Many Cooks
Smells Like Team Spirit

But there are also other names that have been used which don't have anything to do with groups, so we shall see...

EDIT: what about something like 'fusion', or to that effect?

Why is it so hard to finish one of these? haha I know this is a topic resurrection from 07' but I don't care. Track Tennis is something I've always wanted to participate in but every time it comes around one of two things happen. Simply put it either doesn't get started or if it does people just randomly kind of dip out the back door one by one until... Look people, you just can't play tennis with yourself okay! I guess the fact of the matter is that people just don't care. In all seriousness this is just the Internet.

^ I will second that notion. I would love to join one of these...

So, my friend came up to me the other day and asked if I wanted a frozen banana, and I said no, but I want a normal banana later, so... yea.

Something I've always wanted to try now that the tools are available would be a Newton2 based Track-Tennis. Think about it, those awkward transitions from handbuilding to HSAK/Purg to FVD would all be eliminated, yielding a more smooth/flowing design. Also, I'm guessing it would actually help people become more interested as well, because one of the hardest parts of a track-tennis IMO is linking up between segments. Granted if you see that as an added challenge for skill, you may not want an all Newton track-tennis, but I still think it's a good idea.

Ok, so who's up for resurrecting this once and for all?

I'd be in.

I'm up for a few turns of this. I think we should go with the following approach:

Trackbuilding stage: Newton file gets passed around and only that.

Newton to NLtrack process: Someone needs to import to NL and do the station/lift/launch/brake/train settings. The host can do this, or someone can do it on their turn; the rules need to be clear and concise on this.

NLtrack stage: Track carries on as usual like any other track tennis. People can add supports, stations, terrain, etc. as long as their modifications don't affect others' work.

The fact is, this hasn't been done before where a track is worked on in Newton and there's no reason not to try it even if it excludes those who swear by handbuilding or by handbuilding/purg/elementary/AHG.

Right now we just need to gather members who are interested.
