I think that it would be cool if you put mountains around the ride, then put a layer of fog 3ds where the track is white, so that you would go into fog when you went up to that height. Might be a lot of work, but it would probably be worth it.

^I believe the ties are a product of fading the track.

Yes, it is. There's nothing I can do about that, it's just something the NL sim does.

I'm starting to see why B&M don't do loops around lift hills in real life. It's a nightmare to support without getting collisions of some kind, with track, footers, or other supports. At the moment it's looking a lot like Silver Bullet's loop supports, but there's still a few collisions.

Edit: I finally got it done, after an afternoon of tweaking. I spaced out the supports on the lift and added in catwalk supports, giving me a bit more room to work in. One of them is fine now, but the other one is still very wide, but it's the best I could do.

Of course I'm going to flange it. Every one of my rides up until now has had flanges, so why wouldn't this one? I was thinking of doing 3ds flanges, but seeing how much work just the track connectors are taking, that's probably never going to happen.

Woodie Man, just so you know, you don't need to spell my name with a dash. It's just WingOver, but someone stole my original name so I had to change it slightly for this site.

Sorry for the name misspelling. For now on it will be just plain WingOver. And just about how long does it take to put just one track connector in?

Flanges tend to eat up FPS, and Lucifer was already an FPS killer, so he decided to spare a few more frames from certain death.

It depends on a lot of things, like the banking and pitch of the track. Sometimes I have to create unique connectors because of the unusual shaping of the track. If it's a simple straight pieco of track the whole support can be done in a few minutes. If the connector is on a piece of track that's fading from blue to white, I need to create a new texture for it. It's a lot of work, and I doubt most people will appreciate just how much effort I've put into it.

Progress is actually going much faster for the rest of the ride. I've got all the supports done up until the turnaround between the two corkscrews.

WingOver it does look great. I like the connecter on the Immelman. Keep up the good work, the effort you put in is worth it

I'm planning on doing a 3ds station, extending back onto the brake run before it, making a short tunnel for the prelift under the brakes. I'm still new with this, so don't expect anything amazing. If that fails, I'll simply make it out of supports.

Also, look out for a video coming either this week or next, whenever I finish the supports. [:D]

Yet another progress update: Most of the supports have now been completed. I still need to do a few minor tweaks, and place a few footers, but all the track connectors are done. (Finishing with 30 different shapes and over 20 textures [^]) After some more tweaking, including final tunnel tests, I should be ready to fade them. [:D] I'll get some new screenshots uploaded later tonight.

Edit: Here they are, enjoy! [:D]
http://nldc.interfix.net/i8916 This one gave me a bit of trouble, it was a nightmare to get it to pass the tunnel test, but I did it eventually.
http://nldc.interfix.net/i8917
http://nldc.interfix.net/i8918 I know about the footers overlaping, I'll fix that later.

I guess you decided not to take my advice. OK then, you'll hear about it when you upload.

Honestly bro, this does look very nice. But the one thing that's going to bring you down is the building style of this. I already explained to you what you needed to do and I haven't seen anything happen.

I did have a go at making it flow better, but it didn't work much better. Maybe I'll have another go, building 3ds track connectors maens I can make loads of minor changes and only need to tweak the supports a bit.
I don't think the first drop is going to change, though. Making it tighter would mean it would be virtually inpossible to support realistically, even what I've got now is pushing it.
I will have a go at the corks, I might be able to do something about that.
