Two questions:

1. Can steels have no inversions?

2. Is lift speed?12mph or is it only <12mph?

Additionally, do you not think that it would be a good idea for, say, Intamin 4 seat hypers to be able to have 8 or 9 car trains?

1. No. All banking must be under 155*

2. <12 mph

3. I'll change that.

Does that mean you'll join?

I'll take a hit. I can't do anything with compact temps like the GG Contest, so maybe I'll have a better chance with this.

Man, I 100% agree with Jakizle. There already is a popular contest going on, lots of people are busy with that. Not only that, but a contest with such strange rules isn't going to make people come to it, especially when you change all kinds of rules because some people ask.

Well, this contest is for the people who did not enter the other contest, or dropped out of it.

Sure, i'll join this.

There's one thing though and i'm probably being stupid but... On the template the red triangles are flat on the ground. Is it meant to be like that?

^Of course. It means that the track has to go over it at one point or another (from top view)

Complaint: Sorry, EE, I know you're at least trying to make a good contest, but I took a look at the rubiric. Yikes, bud. This will turn out some of the worst rides ever if you don't include Originality as a scorepoint. Also, Supporting/TT/E-Stop IS a part of Technical...

Sounds nice, a few things:

Huge template, but with length and height it looks possible.

4. Track must pass over or through at least 4 of the 5 bright red triangles.

- 4-5 different triangles or doesn't it matter if i'd go 4-5 times over one triangle?

7. Must have a minimum height of 150 feet/200max (for woodies) and a minimum 200ft/max 350 ft (for steelies).

- So you think i can build a 45m - 60m high woody in this template? I don't think so. Why not just keeping the minimum and maximum on what it was? There do exist coasters with an height of more than 60m so why not in this contest? I think it would be cool to see an woody of an 106m height... [:D]

8. Must use any wooden coaster or any coaster with "hyper" in its name.

- So if I name my B&M Inverted to: "Hyper Madness" It's allowed? [:D]
Just give the types of coasters we can use. Much easier...

9. Must have a minimum length of 3500 feet, and have a maximum length of 9500 feet.

- 1067m - 2956m Gotcha. Extreme huge template so I think it's going to be fun to fight with the maximum length [:D]

11. Positive Gs must be under 5.5/-1.4 (for steel)
" " 4.8/-1.6

- Uhm... Why can't a steel one pull just as much airtime as a Woody? None of the Hypers have OSRT's so I don't see any problem Between it...

14. If using a steel coaster, must have a maximum of 3 inversions (no inversions for wooden.) An inversion is considered over 155* banking.

- Huh? And i just read on the forum that no inversion was allowed? Probably a late rule added...

17. Terrain may change if needed.

- Woohoo! Alpine woody!

18. Cars must have from 5-7 some wooden (not including the 2-seat, which could be from 8-12), and for the hypers must be from 6-10 cars.

- Ok, this one is confusing, can you explain it more clearly?
like this:
Woody's: ... to ... cars.
Steel 2-seat hypers: ... to ... cars.
Steel 4-seat hypers: ... to ... cars.

With every extra time you enter a triangle your Adrenaline score goes up by 5 points.

Yay, 45 times crossing a triangle and I should have maxed out my adrenaline score: 200 points! [:D]

Signing up will last until the end of May, and the contest will last till the end of June.

- Why close the sign-up's at end may? Not everyone needs a full month for a woody. Imo peeps should be able to sign up untill the deadline has been reached. Also an exact date and time of the deadline would be nice [:)]

Anyways, I'm in. This is going to be fun [:P]
Coastercount: 1410 (I've seen the world and it's horrid contraptions... @.@)
- Wood: 142
- Steel: 1268

^

1. No, they must go over at least 4 different triangles.
2. I just want to keep it realistic, yet a big thrill.
3. Okay: All the wooden, 'Hyper 2-seat', and 'Hyper 4-seat'
4. Yes.
5. Jimmy Yoshi says that the hyper 2-seat must pull under -1.5 gs, so that is what I thought.
6. Yeah, that is a late rule.
7. Yeah.
8. Woodies: 5-12 cars (depending on type)
Steel 2-seat hypers: 6-10
Steel 4-seat hypers: 6-9
9. Please, make it realistic.
10. I just want everyone to be done in time. If everybody that signs up finishes early, then I will end the contest there.

New Date for Contest end: June 31st at 12:00:00 Midnight WWS time.

^ Vertical or lateral? I think it is vertical, but I have seen many NL and a few real coasters that get -1.4

Not real woodies, and yes vertical, lateral is generally read as just a straight number, like 1.5.

Umm, if you want inversions then you need a coaster with OSTRs. As far as I know (Besides Schwarzkopfs.) coasters dont go upside down with out them. Its too dangerous.
