Oh god, I mean .......... oh God [lol].

I HATE so much, hearing people or seeing people talking about coasters, when they have got no idea at all. I guess this isn't so bad, because at no point do they claim to know things about this subject but the statement "I live in california, all we have is Medusa at Six Flgas" really got to me [lol]. The fact that someone can live in california and seriously think that that is the case is well, beyond me.

I actually started to just feel really unfcomfortable reading this thread, I don't know why it aggrovates me so much to hear other people talking about something they know nohting about, espeically coasters, because I'm knowledgable on the subject. I did at points just want to scream though hahaha.

I HATE things like this. I literally do hate it you know. When people talk near me about coasters and get it all wrong i just have to but in and say, no thats wrong and explain. lol. I get really picky. Im so picky i hate it when people think the copper alloy fins launch the train on rita, when in fact they stop it in case of a roll back. Thats how picky i am. The worst thing though was when i was at flamingoland and someone said cliffhanger was the tallest rid ein the world and went 400 feet, when really its only 190foot or so (56m). See im picky, but i dont care. lol.

Actually the worst thing is when people say things like rita goes to 100mph! Eesh, i know AT convinced people it did, but still, isnt it obvious it isnt that fast?

This has always been my biggest pet peeve, when people don't know things that I do and pretend to know them, whether it's roller coasters or anything else. That whole topic was pretty funny to read, I especially liked the "I'm looking into skydiving, I think it's the only step up from there" response to riding Kingda Ka.

If there was ever any doubt that we are all coaster geeks, this thread cements that point.[hello]

I would bet Tconwell's left sack that 99% of the world population has no idea what the tallest and fastest coaster in the world is. But it sure pisses our little 1% that does know off. In reality, it's really park marketing and enthusiasts that trully keep track of these kind of details. We should all just be proud (or ashamed[sillyme]) at how much useless coaster trivia we all have at our finger tips.

Wow, according to these people: every roller coaster in the world begins with "The" (eg: The Magnum), $4 million is a lot for a coaster, riding TTD will make you a man (so what were you before? A woman?), Goliath @ SFOG will go 85 mph, and Millennium Force was copied off of Goliath (I'm guessing the one @ SFMM)[lol]. I want to post on those forums and tell them how stupid they all are[sillyme] Then everyone in the world would be a coaster nerd!

This is so funny! here are retarted(est) quotes from that thread:

"beh, the dragster i think was a cop out fill in before they come up with some sick 4 million foot tall 20 minute roller coaster." Umm, go, die...

"that poop at six flag couldnt have been anymore of a copy, and the same company is building it for them too!" NO CRAP

"I want to go ride it! I live 10 minutes from Six Flags Over Great Adventure!" Wow, they built a great adventure over the existing great adventure?!?

Btw: AWESOME Kingda Ka video:

I love people that can't spell the word retarded. They're so smart.

BTW if you misspelled that on purpose I'm sorry.

That's not the worst I've ever seen or heard for that matter.

Once while in line for the Jack Rabbit at Kennywood, someone said that every time it goes down the double dip, that it flies off the track, and that sometimes it falls off and people die. I corrected that person, but they didn't seem to belive me.

These things show how nerdy we are, and how stupid and uninformed the GP is.

"What happens if it doesn't clear the 90????????? hill?"

"You start falling backwards and crash into the station and die."

What an idiot. He has obviously not clue how the magnetic fins work. Geez. But hey he is a member of the GP which means he has not spent hours reading books and cruising forums like this one.

Monty, I wouldn't be so sure. Based on that guy's other posts he really does not know as much about coasters as one of us does.

What I find funny is when I'm at PCW and people think the rides there are the best in the world.

Parks use the GP's Ignorance to their advantage, the more times they say "the biggest, the fastest etc etc..." the more people will go "Wow, oh my god!", where as we just sit here and go "meh, clearly just bullshite intended to pray on the fact that the GP has no idea otherwise". Parks bend the truth all of the time and the GP believes it because, well, they have no idea what the truth is so yeah, of course they believe it.

Like jpecool mentioned, the advertising for Rita in this country ... "0-100 in 2.8" of course the GP thinks "Wow, 100mph!", how many times have the UK coaster peeps been standing in the queue for Rita and heard them go, "I can't believe it goes 100mph!". You do actually want to turn around and brutally masacre them in the face. When I was at Alton Towers with gazag the other week, we were in the skyride just leaving Rita behind and some crazy child goes "it goes 110mph" and you're thinking, now that's just pure BS [lol]. I suppose you have to laugh, as I think this is one of the only subjects where people will just stand their and claim to have knowledge about it (while they are at parks anyway) when they BLATANTLY do not. I mean, if you don't know anything about science, you don't stand in a lab reeling off bullcrap to the scientists in the room, why does it happen at theme parks? [lol]
