It's an old video, but I figure it's worth sharing if it hasn't been already. As well, I wasn't sure which category to place this topic in. I went with Roller Coaster / Ride Construction because that is practically what the video is about. Someone can move it though if they wish.

They actually didn't build of the first looping coaster...About 7 loopers came out before Corkscrew at CP.
1-Millennium Force | 2-Intimidator 305 | 3-Fury 325
4-Skyrush | 5-Iron Rattler | 6-X2 | 7-Kingda Ka
8-Voyage | 9-Maverick | 10-Monster

Arrow built the first successful looping coaster. Sure, the Flip Flap in Coney Island inverted riders in the 1900s but it also pushed 12Gs and gave riders whiplash!

That sounds like fun :D

No need for a centrifuge, just use those old outdated loopers.

lol, it is an old video, he's using AutoCAD 2002. To be fair, it was better than AutoCAD 2008, I hate 2008, it's like a frickin' cartoon! I bet they only use that as to draught the final plans. I'd imagine they use a serious 3D modelling package to create the rides initially, like AutoDesk Inventor.

The main one they showed for hypers was desperado...which happens to be not only an Arrow, but also IMO their best. That beast puts MF to shame. I just wish they could hva ehad some good interview footage with Toomer thrown in there..after all he is 99% of what made Arrow so great.

I remember seeing a video where Toomer explained his favorite way to create elements for rides was to take a coat hanger and bend it in weird ways and see how it looked haha.

What doesn't put MF to shame?

I remember a long time ago when I was in 4th grade for the job fair I did a Q&A with Alan Schilke and Toomer. I look back saying "wtf?! I asked stupid questions..." I wish I could do that over again.

And that is why I love arrow so much. The took risk and they most definately were pioneers in the coaster biz. It's a shame that they went bankrupt, but o well. Life goes on.
