What you have to realise is that VR is still very much in development and the graphics that you are seeing are not of the standard that the game will ship with. This compares to NLFG which is the finished product.

Another point to consider is that the team is trying to keep the game open to users of a wide-range of computer specs - too many polygons and its slowed down, especially if you imagine when the user is building their own jam-packed fairground for example.

Also trying to make the ride models have easily modifiable skins - so that the user can get a template, edit it, and then transfer it back onto the ride.

Check out the videos...the quality of the rides, graphics and the game overall is improving with each one.

this game is WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY too confusing! toggle this, speed that, move this, activate that. Ugh! it was so hard, i couldnt ever get the top spin to run! u need to make it easier to use, like dials on a control panel, not 50 buttens.... so far i am not impressed.

Never fear tiepilot...remember this is still the first demo, the control panels are being updated all the time to allow for mouse-button-pushing [you will have the choice to use both keyboard/mouse].
An example of this is shown in the X-Force video where you can clearly see the user 'clicking' on the control panel via the mouse - check it out.[:)]
Also the panels will help by displaying the status of each motor etc soon.

Any further questions feel free to post...

tiepilot, it's a matter of practice. In real life some operators have to do the same just to deliver an awesome ride [:)]

Although not an 100% decision, it will most likely be delivered via an online system such as NoLimits/Screamachines currently uses. Of course if this was the case, there would most likely be an option to have a CD version sent to you in the post as well.

As for when, the project is still on track for release by the end of the year.

P.S The Mondial Top Scan video is now online!

P.P.S This video includes people! (How could I forget that!?)[stupid]

????????? How much will the final version be approximately?
We aren't able to say exactly at the moment

another question; why doesn't the demo have sound in the fairground? (the menu has music)

????????? What is music in VR handled like?
There are 5 music categories in total: techno, pop, hip-hop rock and misc. Within the editor you can choose which music style you want a ride to have, but this can also be changed within the simulation when you have control over the ride.

????????? Will there be music delivered with VR?
Yes, VR will provide you with songs of the 5 categories, also exclusive material from DreamElement.

????????? Will I be able to use my own music and how does it work?
Of course you can import your favorite songs into the game. In the VR folder there's a subfolder named "music" with 5 subfolders, in which you easily can copy your music which is in *.ogg or *.mp3 format. After you start the game the next time, these files can also be used. Maybe it's also enough to create links to files or folders, but if this feature will be implemented into the game is not sure yet.

????????? How can the music be used in the game?
The whole thing works like standard audioplayers like e.g. WinAmp. When you have control over a ride, you can choose one title in the upper right border of the screen, change the music style or similar.

????????? I don't have music exactly matching the categories or I don't want to have any pop-style. What can I do then?
The categories are suggestions only. You can copy in any style you want.

Since Mad Data is publishing it, couldn't they program it so that you can take NL coasters and use them in VR??? I think that would work well. It would also boost the sales of both games.

Indeed as you have noticed, I am a member of the VR team (a multi-national team at that [:)])

As you may have noticed when visiting the site, the team has been contacted by the German touring group Agtsch with an exciting proposition:

They are looking to take on a travelling ride assistant for their funfair Afterburner "Freestyle" (being modelled in VR.)

You would be provided with food and accommodation. Wages are subject to agreement.
To be considered, the following are a must-have: Obviously fluent in the German language, LGV driving licence (up to 7.5t), ability to travel freely.

Mr M. Agtsch is after serious enquiries only, but if you are interested either visit the VR homepage, or PM/email me for contact details.

Great oppurtunity if it's right for you...

Yours,

The workaround for this error is posted on the first page of this topic.
There is also a patch which you can download from the VR site:
www.virtual-rides.net

If you need any further help, please PM me.

No, that was an error on my part, there was only ever going to be 4 videos released in the video month. However, the next video is ready and will be released in due course.
Obviously we want to keep the spread of media released going until the full game release to keep you guys interested + to make sure everything is top notch stuff [:)].
