However there is this more recent interesting article which says Santa Clarita would LOVE to annex the park and keep it running. Apparently the $1.7 million in property taxes the park pays (not to mention utilities and whatnot) is a tasty prize, and more than they'd make off of more housing.

It's ironic that the park was originally built by a housing developer as a way to lure people to move 'over the hill' from LA. I guess it was too successful now that it's in danger of becoming housing itself.
