we need to start sending letters to this Mark Shapiro guy and try to convince him not to sell magic mountain. If they do decide to sell it lets form a group of people and lets go protest in front of the park. Im already finished writing my letter and im going to send it so who's with me?

It'll be sold, but not destroyed. It is too big. If it is sold, I'm sure the next manager will take good care of it. The Six Flags company is selling 6 parks because they are $2 billion in debt.

A typographical error or "typo" is a mistake made during the typing process. This excludes errors of ignorance, rather being the result of slips of the hand or finger, or in some cases, mechanical failure. Typographical errors typically manifest in the form of an additional or missing character, or the switching of two characters.

SFMM is going to be turned into houses. I'm too lazy to look up the article right now but it comes down to the land being to valuable to remain a theme park. They can make more money selling houses. [V]

Where's the nuts meat?

There was a press release a while ago saying that SFMM is not going to be sold, and if for some reason they have to sell it, it will not be torn down, it will be sold to another amusment park chain. Common sense gives that away... you really think they would tear it down?

SFEG is for sale right now. It will probably be torn down.

Well, real-estate developers are pretty hot to get that land. Here's the original article outlining why it might be sold to developers:

http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-s ... s-business

However there is this more recent interesting article which says Santa Clarita would LOVE to annex the park and keep it running. Apparently the $1.7 million in property taxes the park pays (not to mention utilities and whatnot) is a tasty prize, and more than they'd make off of more housing.

http://www.dailynews.com/search/ci_4115244

It's ironic that the park was originally built by a housing developer as a way to lure people to move 'over the hill' from LA. I guess it was too successful now that it's in danger of becoming housing itself.
