I feel like since the 2 coasters were first, I should've gotten second, then a lower rated coaster get 3.

Yes they are not included, hyyyper deals with those separately.

There were 2 coasters with a higher score than you, since they tied, they both got first, but since you were the 3rd highest, you got 3rd.
