I have it on auto.

Is the 4:3, 5:4, 16:9 or 16:10 the best?

In this image the track and supports far away look pixley and not very clear. I have full screen antilising on selection 3. How can i get the track to look clear in the distance like I did in NL1?

Heh, how ironic, I had the pixly problem in NL1 but have not had it in NL2.
I believe I have it on auto but its sets itself at 16:9

99% of the time, you want to keep aspect ratio set to auto. Antialiasing may not be working on your system; try enabling it through a driver setting and leaving it off in NL2.

Adjusting LOD settings might help too, but it's mostly antialiasing not working.

uh, whatever the aspect ratio of your monitor is? And yeah, the settings your looking for are probably antialiasing and LOD switch

What should my texture filter quality be at for the best?

when I turned all settings in NL2 off or to low, and set my graphics card setting up high it looked much better than the other way around. seemed to run better too.

16:9 is kind of the standard aspect ratio for video, this is typically what I use. 4:3 *was* the norm when we used those clunky CRT monitors and TVs.
