Portland's Crystal Ballroom has this cool promotion called "I Remember When" featuring upcoming bands, and they only charge $0.94 per ticket. No processing fees. Just $0.94. I saw White Arrow and the Neighbourhood for the 2nd time. Sold out. I first saw them last November supporting Paul Banks. I guess since then they've gotten a song on the radio. The night sold out. Had to get my ticket off of craigslist, but it was cool because I traded some dude a 6pack of hard cider for a pair of tickets. Still not a bad deal.

Anyways, I'm catching Gold Fields tonight. I won't know who's supporting them until tonight. Still, you can't beat that price. Then I saw the XX is coming through. $51 after fees!!! I think I'm going to have to pass. I'll stick to the smaller bands for a doll hair.

Awesome. Have you seen Hate5six's stuff? He filmed Converge at the Royale from a few months ago, one of the craziest shows I've been to. Title Fight there as well. http://hate5six.com/player.php?album=2155484

Speaking of crazy shows, I saw Terror the other night. Holy fuc.k. Absolutely insane. By far the most violent show I've ever been to.

Craziest week ever. Secret show in a Providence warehouse, Not so secret show with less people than the secret show on Cape Cod, and Fight Amp/Ken Mode/Black Tusk/Today Is The Day in a blizzard with about 20 people. Snakes (http://****snakes.bandcamp.com/), Old Wounds (http://oldwoundsnj.bandcamp.com/), and HOST (http://ibrokethemirror.bandcamp.com/) are my 3 newest favorite bands, dudes tear it up live, and I have about 2000 pictures to go through.

Just saw Mark Tremonti's solo act the other night at the Knitting Factory in Spokane, WA. Great show, his lineup is incredible. Tremonti (of Creed and Alter Bridge), Wolfgang Van Halen (need I say?), Eric Friedman (of Creed and formerly of Submersed) and Garrett Whitlock (formerly of Submersed). Openers were Seven Cycles and Rock in Paradise; Seven was alright, Rock sucked though.

Tremonti blew the roof off of the building, playing their entire "All I Was" album, including unreleased B-sides, quite rare.

Having seen Tremonti play before with Alter Bridge, I knew what to expect from him, but Wolfgang, holy shat, that kid can play a bass. Show was just incredible, if you ever have a chance to see the band, I'd highly recommend it; either with his solo act or with Alter Bridge. Creed? Meh.

Also got some souvenirs, used signed pick from Wolfgang, used pick from Mark Tremonti, as well as a signed CD by the entire band. Got to meet em after the show too, that was something else entirely, something that will stick in my mind for my entire life. It's not everyday you get to meet one of your heroes/idols (Mark Tremonti).

One does not simply just throw bands like Sigur Ros or Radio Head or Paul McCartney into a list with other bands. Those are the pinnacle acts. Experiences that change and shape lives.

What are these for?

Sigur Ros was absolutely amazing. I feel bad for Tim Hecker who opened though, he was behind the curtain that Sigur Ros uses for their visuals on the first few songs and everyone talked through his set. Sigur Ros is live is something that everyone should experience, though.

On a side note, the Vanna show I went to was insane. It was a last minute floor show at a VFW hall, not their usual big venue with a photo pit deal. So much chaos. They linked to my pics from it on facebook and I got 5200 total views on Flickr yesterday, lol. Also check out Raindance, they're insanely good.

Still need to get the other two bands up on Flickr.

Just saw Alt-J the other night. Absolutely incredible. Everyone went nuts! I met a lot of really cool people too. The night went very well considering that I just showed up hoping to get into a show that had been sold out for months.

Also just recently got my ticket for Outside Lands and gonna see Danny Brown and Local Natives later this month!

What else did I forget... oh yea, I went to a hip hop festival a couple weeks ago "Paid Dues" saw Murs & Fashawn, Juicy J, Bad Lucc & Problem, WC, Macklemore, The Internet, Immortal Technique, headlined by Black Hippy (Kendrick Lamar, School Boy Q, JRock, Ab-soul). Black Hippy, especially kendrick absolutely kill it. If you ever get a chance to see any of them, highly highly recommended. They are the future of hip hop. This gen's NWA.

Well Royal Teeth and Wild Party are random also. Walk The Moon is starting to get super popular so I can now count that as a major band.

Therefore:
- Walk The Moon

So now my list is yours by a factor of 1/2. Which is better than 1/48!
