yes..
i was a fire controllman in the navy.. not "put out fires" but control fire from weapons. on board uss francis hammond i fired the 5"54 cannon from both the mk 68 gun director and from gun plot several times . i also participated in a harpoon shoot..on board uss duluth i was a CIWS tech(google it) which involves a 20 mm cannon,/gatling gun. on board both ther were armories for smal arms which my department controlled, so i also got to fire m-14 7.62 mm automatic rifle, AND m14 full automatic and m60, (same ammunition, but faster") the standard 50 cal. machine guns, qualified very high with colt model 1911 .45 cal pistol, mk. 79 40mm grenade launcher..
mossberg pump shotguns, barretta 9mm pitol, m'16 machine gun.
and then privately my grandpa's 30/40 krag , lots of .22s including both the marlin model 99 that my dad gave my when i was 12, and a really accurate mossberg bolt action that my dad aquired ages ago, and
one time out inthe desert thisdudelet me try his weatherby 300 WOW!
