Yeah, jayman, the point of El Toro is not that it doesn't feel like a wooden coaster. That's a plus to most people, but the main attractions are the incredible first drop (one of the best in the world), the insanely high positive g's in spots, enough to prevent many riders from sitting up straight, the crazy fast changes from high positives to ejector airtime that is strong enough to make you feel pressure in your head, the fast pacing over almost all hills, the few very surprising headchoppers and support tunnels, and the crazy first part of the second half.
I'd say the first drop is one of the top 3 drops I've ridden, the other two being Millennium Force's and Apollo's Chariot's, the 2nd hill and definately third hill are probably the best hills of any ride I've been on, including SROS SFNE, and the turnaround is probably the best turnaround of any ride I've been on. The beginning of the twister section is likely the most out of control coaster segment I've ridden, with very high speeds, highly dynamic and surprisingly strong lats, and relatively quick changes in banking.
As you can see from what I just wrote, the smooth ride is just one small part of it. It's not made to recreate the average wooden coaster, it's made to have the best experience possible regardless of material. I don't think it's as close to perfection as Superman SFNE, but many think the intensity through about 2/3 of the ride makes it better.
Sounds like a few of you definately need a ride
