Howdy, everyone. This is purely a research survey. I'm working on a few contests, so I'd like to gauge what everyone likes and dislikes about CC.com's contest templates from the past. So, if you have the time, please reply with which WWS.com contest template was your favorite, and why. And if there was a template that you especially disliked, you may post that too.

What follows is a complete list of every contest template used in past contests, a description, and links to the two highest-rated coasters which were built on said templates, in case you need to refresh your memory.

CHOICES:

1. Rocket Building Contest (Template design by Xtreme15, winter 2003)
Contestants had to build a rocket coaster within the confines.
Example: "Space Jam" by G Force Addict - http://www.coastercrazy.com/track_excha ... sp?tid=385

I'd say myself:
13. TightFit Contest (Template designed by cjd, August 2005)
Another ring-navigating challenge in a very short, narrow template.

I like small templates, this one was nice and challenging for me. I think it's also my fav just because I was the only one to build a woody/non inverting coaster on this template.[lol]
Coastercount: 1410 (I've seen the world and it's horrid contraptions... @.@)
- Wood: 142
- Steel: 1268

I've always had a soft spot for Edge's Tree Top Challenge, myself. It was just restrictive enough to force you to think outside of the box, but not so restrictive that you could barely do anything, like a lot of the CoasterSims contests are.

2006 Round 1 is my favorite. Because you are restricted by the narrow land, yet there's enough room to 'do your own thing'.

Put me on the map has been my favorite, even though I don't participate in the contests, I do still like to play with templates to see what I come up with. I've been working on a coaster for Put me on the map for a little over a year now. The terrain has been very fun to work with.

The most creative was EASILY Hyyypers Round 1.

I know it didn't have a template, but that's why I thought the Standing Ovation contest was so good, and seemed to turn out not only good, but a lot of entries. I should've entered that one...

I also liked Gazag's Round 1. It's too bad that contest was a huge poop, I thought the idea was fun. I didn't do good myself but I think something similar would be a joy to see again.

The Put Me on the Map contest was also really ace. I saw a lot of work went into that, and it seemed to have a lot of rules and guidelines and boundries to keep in mind which probably made that one more challenging.

Gazag's Round was my favorite because CJD was a dirty nasty cheater and cheated.

^Wasn't that contest unofficial? It said so at the top of the contest thread... plus, there was no template, and this is a question about which template was everyone's favorite, so those are the two reasons I left it out. If I'm wrong and it was official, I'll list it.

EDIT: Okay, now I see Oscar's post that said it was indeed official. I'll add it to the list.

^That one got erased due to the site crash, was never judged, and no record of the template exist, so I left it out.
