Every so many years those parts of track need to be replaced. Thats what I would assume is happening.

They could possibly be replacing the spiral with a holding brake.

The only problem with the holding brake is I don't think the train gets all the way high enough at that point...unless the relaunch backwards like they do between the first and second launch up the front...in which case I would be for the brake idea...I like that better than the twist a second time (but the twist going backwards is still pretty cool). XD

The top part sees a lot of deflection (i.e. it wobbles), so they're probably just replacing parts at the connection or perhaps even the entire section of track.

Maybe they'll add even more supports!

They don't "replace" track for maintenance when the ride isn't even ten years old.

There was an F' up somewhere along the lines and this is to fix it...

Possibly the small stoppie at the top of the track isn't doing its job, and doing work on it in the air isn't safe there.

And if it was getting a holding section, well thats no fun. Double spiral is much better than spiral and hold.

My guess is preventative maintenance, and it'll be ready for opening day with the exact same ride experience as before . . . not an exciting theory, but the pictures of the process are fun.

[lol] Now Wicked Twister will be the most intense ride ever, stopping a mere 3 inches from the top while doing the upward spiral. [lol]

I think they are adding a new support because when i was in line it was swaying really far (like a foot) and everyone was staring at it like,"i dont know it i want to ride this." So yeah it is a problem and they are trying to fix it.

That's only interesting when it happens on the front spike. On the rear spike you really don't get improved ride experience [lol]

Wicked Twister is going to sway... It was designed to. CP has sent in videos and have had people look at it and it was said to be safe!

Intamin didn't account for the added weight of midwestern fatties. That's why the swaying was too much and they needed to add supports to all of them.

i would say its down for matinence

the big reason why they would of taken it down is because its easyier to do so and less time consuming.

cedar point will either own there own crane or have a fleet ready to go of them, it takes a few hours to undo the bolts and off it pops then on the ground it can be X-ray'd, checked, cleaned, painted and fixed if need be alot easyier than if it was still way up in the air
