Superman. Never realized how much fear you can get from dropping 205 feet.

That little kid was a TRIP!

But...how could they close that park?! LITTLE DIPPER, a historical ride, is there!!

It's this whole thing where the original owner left the land to half the family and the park to the other half hoping it would ensure the park's survival forever but the family that owns the land feels it can get more from selling so they aren't renewing the lease. It's been drug out in court for 5 years and finally they have to close it. FYI, Meteor at Little Amerricka in Marshall Wisconsin is a mirror image of the Little Dipper. So give it a few years to "settle in" and it will be close to riding Little Dipper.

It's a long time ago, so I'm not certain, but I think it would have to be the Corkscrew at Alton Towers back in 1980, the year it opened. I no doubt went on others at the time, but it's only Corkscrew I remember.

Mine was a predcessor to the dragon wagon portable coasters at the Del Mar Fair near San Diego. I don't remember the date but it was most likely 1989-1990-ish. About the time Magnum XL-200 was finished.

My first roller coaster was Magnum XL-200 in 1989. I was five and figured I wasnt tall enough. My father, twin sisters and I waited for three hours in the awful heat. Turns out I was tall enough. My feet barely touched the floor (it was almost my first floorless). I didnt realize how big the coaster was until we started to climb the lift. That ride changed my life. I was terrified, but amazed by the feeling of airtime. I fell in love with roller coasters. Thanks Mr. Toomer.

Rollo Coaster at Idlewild. It seemed giant at the time (I think I was 5). My aunt told me it was just a fast train.

mine was thunder mountain at magic kingdom,

the first one i consider a real true "big" coaster was batman the ride at magic mountain, however, i went on a fairly nice looper prior to that.

Oops! Sorry about splitting the post...continued...but I wasn't hooked until 2009, when I rode Kings Island's famous Beast for the first time. Then I hit my first looping coaster, Vortex. And later, my first 200+ foot coaster, Diamondback.

I've only rode about 10 roller coasters to date, but I plan on getting more. A LOT more.

My first coaster was Scooby Doo at Kings Dominion. Rebel Yell was the first "big" coaster though. I'm not sure how old I was for either.
